Publisher's summary

"I brought Laurie back to meet her father. I brought her back to meet you."

I'm normally not into jocks, but when Troy Wood asks me out, I feel like I'm the Chosen One. After all, he's hot as hell and Silver Lake's best athlete, practically the king of campus.

God's gift to women - that's what they call him, but I'll make a gentleman out of him.

Everything is perfect, and he already practically has his ticket to the big leagues.

There's just one little problem. I'm hiding a secret that could destroy him and his future. I can't tell him.

I can't tell him that I'm pregnant with his baby.

2 Blized Stars

I hate to write a review with a 2 star but it was just so predictable.
I did like the narrator, she did a great job. She was what kept me listening to be honest.

I didn’t enjoy Whitney as a character at all. I didn’t connect with her one bit. I thought she was selfish and just not a great kind of person at all.

I enjoyed her best friend Dani. She is a character I wanted more of.
I also loved Troy, his character intrigued me. Throughout the book I loved all of the football sports stuff. That was very well written and I am not a football girl but I understood it and wanted more of those parts.

I didn’t like Laurie …. Sorry but a 5 almost 6 year old that sounds more like a 9 – 10 yr old yeah not for me sorry. Tooo mature for the age she was suppose to be.

And I know its fiction but it was just too immature for me given their ages. But that’s just my opinion it might be your next great read. Maybe geared for a younger audience.

Romance and Football

Lauren Landish is an author whom I have read several of her books, and really enjoy her stories. Melissa Moran did an excellent job with her performance of the various characters in this book. The story is more new adult romance with the characters starting in high school and growing up. There is love, heartbreak, daily life struggles and happy ever after. The author did a great job with the character development and I enjoyed the combination of romance and football. The choices and sacrifices portrayed in this book were realistic. I was voluntarily provided with this review copy audiobook at no charge by the author, narrator, and/or publisher.

Total entertainment.

I was totally surprised with this book as I chose it based on the cover photo... Great way to be surprised by books you haven't heard of, right?

I was completely entertained. It starts out in high school and just as immature and on the surface as high school is, the author portrays that. We are then taken into adult life and complications.

For me, this book was entertaining & steamy with a healthy serving of angst. This book has been sitting on my kindle, but I'm glad I waited for the narration because Melissa Moran does a great job portraying these characters.

Sweet with a Little Heat

Sweet story. This story begins as a High School Romance which made me think this was mistakenly placed in contemporary adult romance, but about half way through the story transitions into adulthood. The story did keep my attention throughout, but is a bit on the mild side in its genre.
The narrator, Melissa Moran is fantastic!

Good Story

Who was your favorite character and why?

Troy, he was sweet and loving to Whitney even while he was going through everything in his home life and also when she did what she did to him. He could have been really upset about the lost time but he just went with it. I do think he should have been mad at least a little/

What does Melissa Moran bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you just read the book?

Melissa Moran did a really great job with the voices, the only one I did not care for was the little girl.

Did you have an extreme reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?

This book was a bit of an emotional roller coaster at times. More often than not my heart broke for Troy.

Any additional comments?

Sweet and swoony

Where does Blitzed rank among all the audiobooks you’ve listened to so far?

Blitz would have to be in my top 20% for audiobooks that fall under second chance romance or secret baby romance.

Who was your favorite character and why?

I loved Troy. He was so different than what I expected going into this book. While the typical bad boy/womanizing persona was implied, almost from the start Troy's behavior was the complete opposite of that. He was sweet, caring, considerate, and all together swoony. He handled his situations with maturity, and was understanding. However I was a bit surprised that he was so immediate about some of his understanding and forgiveness. I felt some of his reactions could have been more, emotionally charged, and less immediate.

What does Melissa Moran bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you just read the book?

I really felt Melissa did a fantastic job bringing the story to life. She had great timing with her pausing, or narrative that really brought the emotion of the characters to the forefront. The only thing, at least for me, was her attempts at an accent fell a bit flat. In some moments you could detect a bit of accent, and in others non at all, but even when accent was present it didn't sound very Italian, or Spanish to me. Luckily it was very small parts that there were few and far between that called for an accent at all.

Was there a moment in the book that particularly moved you?

I loved Troy's optimism, but my favorite parts were when he had "emotional content"

Any additional comments?

This was a really light hearted story for the most part. The characters were lovable, and romantic. I enjoyed the friendship aspects, and the way they were expressed. There are some more serious moments/content that appears in the storyline, but they didn't weigh the book down. I really appreciated the comrodery and tension breaking moments that Danielle/Harley added. The entire emotional content theory was a nice touch to the sports aspects to the storyline, as well as the technicality of the football lingo. Over all I felt the story was sweet, and a good read to lighten your day. I was given this book, from audiobook boom for my unbiased review.

Troy and Whitney

I read this book back in 2016, listening to it made me realize how much I adored this story. Troy and Whitney embark on a heartbreaking, breathtakingly beautiful but sweet journey. I was cheering these two on the entire time. I enjoyed this story.
Melissa Moran did a fantastic job narrating, kudos for taking on both female and male characters.

HE WAS TOO GOOD TO WAIT FOR HER

Any additional comments?

I was provided this audiobook through Audiobook Boom at no charge by the author, publisher and/or narrator in exchange for an unbiased review.

Great premise but I wanted to scream at Whitney. I applaud her approach and fearlessness in beginning her relationship with Troy, but her decision to leave wasn't fair. Afterward I couldn't believe Troy wasn't furious, he missed so many important events. Then we have Ninny Whitney—again! Finally she had to face what I'd wanted to scream at her, for-ev-er.
She did other stupid things and I just became irritated. Troy should have some bad choices to even out her mistakes.

Melissa Moran performed wonderfully.

One Thumb Up for a good story and Whitney gets a thumb down.
