In 2022, Lisa Marie Presley asked her daughter to help finally finish her long-gestating memoir. A month later, Lisa Marie was dead, and the world would never know her story in her own words, never know the passionate, joyful, caring, and complicated woman that Riley loved and now grieved. Riley got the tapes that her mother had recorded for the book, lay in her bed, and listened as Lisa Marie told story after story about smashing golf carts together in the yards of Graceland, about the unconditional love she felt from her father, about being upstairs, just the two of them.

Story
Sydney Shaw, like every single woman in New York, has terrible luck with dating. She’s seen it all: men who lie in their dating profile, men who stick her with the dinner bill, and worst of all, men who can't shut up about their mothers. But finally, she hits the jackpot. Her new boyfriend is utterly perfect. He's charming, handsome, and works as a doctor at a local hospital. Sydney is swept off her feet. Then the brutal murder of a young woman—the latest in a string of deaths across the coast—confounds police. The primary suspect? A mystery man who dates his victims before he kills them.

Easy to understand and use to help kids understand boundaries
I love how well this book makes the subject of boundaries easy to understand for all ages! I like the accompanying workbook - The exercises help kids apply the concepts. Some older kids may find the story telling a little young sounding but the concepts will still apply to them.
Since different cultures draw boundaries in different places, It is a great book for a parent to do with a child and talk about how the boundaries apply to them and their family.
Many adults who grew up in families without healthy boundaries could learn how to set and respect healthy boundaries right along side their children.

Truly helpful
I started doing this ritual where every time I go out, I'd play an audiobook in the car while I drive. And also started doing it with my kids. This is the first audiobook I had them listen too and the result is interesting. We'd stop chapter per chapter and I'll let them ask questions or I ask them questions. I think this is gonna be an effective way to teach kids skills like setting boundaries etc. And as for this book, I'm glad this is the first book we listened to during my little experiment as it sparked really interesting conversations with my kids.

A boundaries book for kids
A book that teaches kids the importance of boundaries is so important we might have not think so but it is as they can also take these lessons and apply them to there self especially when they have grown into adults, puting them into practice is also just as important. I really admire the authors effort to write this book for children.

A Vital Resource: Teaching Boundaries to Children
As a registered nurse and trauma therapist with over 35 years of experience working with traumatized children, I can confidently say that the "Boundaries Workbook for Kids" by Barrett Huang is an exceptional tool for educating children about personal safety and consent. This workbook is thoughtfully designed to address these crucial topics in a way that is both engaging and age-appropriate for kids aged 8-12.
One of the standout features of this workbook is the use of Tibby and Zip, the charming sibling kitties who guide children through each chapter. The short stories featuring these characters make complex boundary concepts accessible and relatable, helping kids understand and internalize these lessons effectively.
The workbook is rich with activities and exercises that reinforce the material covered in the stories. This dynamic approach ensures that the children not only grasp the concepts but are also able to apply them in various settings, such as at home, school, and online. The exercises are well-crafted to be both fun and educational, keeping children engaged throughout the learning process.
In practice, I have found that interactive and relatable content significantly enhances the learning experience for children, especially those who have experienced trauma. The Audible version of this workbook is particularly beneficial, as it provides a convenient and engaging way for children to absorb these vital lessons. The narrator's captivating voice adds an extra layer of engagement, making the stories come alive and hold the child's attention.
Overall, the "Boundaries Workbook for Kids" is an invaluable resource that I highly recommend to fellow therapists, educators, and parents. Barrett Huang has created a comprehensive and effective tool for teaching children about personal safety and consent, which is essential for their development and well-being. This workbook is a must-have for anyone dedicated to fostering a safe and supportive environment for children.

Building Boundary Barriers
Boundaries Workbook for Kids: Fun, Educational & Age-Appropriate Lessons About Personal Safety, Consent & Respect - Learn to Set Healthy Body Boundaries at Home, School, & Online., by author Barrett Huang and narrator Corey Katona is a wonderful learning tool for children ages 8 through 12 to learn how to set boundaries for and understand what types of situations boundaries should be set for themselves. This workbook engages children with activities that correlate with the topics discussed and the vocabulary is at the level of their understanding.
I have been a teacher of all grades and subjects for 45 years and have had many students who have unfortunately experienced trauma over individuals not respecting the boundaries of these children. All children need to be safe and feel safe for their mental and physical health. Barrett has created a workbook with kittens named Zip and Tibby that takes children through scenarios to assist children in understanding the importance of setting boundaries.
One of the many topics that that Huang covers in his workbook is cyberbullying. This is running rampant with our children in this country at all ages! It is detrimental to our children. I have seen it every day with my students for the past years and it keeps getting worse. I am so grateful that Huang included this topic in his workbook. Barrett created a list of positive cyberbullying items that children should do and a list of negative items that they shouldn’t participate in within his workbook. Some of these are; positive - tell a trusted adult, block the person, save the evidence, report it, negative – don’t bully back, don’t hide it or keep it a secret.
Huang has activities and exercises that reinforce the material covered in each of the scenarios presented. These fun activities assist in keeping children engaged and help to enhance their learning experience. There are coloring pages, crossword puzzles, word searches, and an online safety quiz. The audible version of Huang’s workbook has a delightful and Corey has an entertaining voice that holds the listener’s attention. I highly recommend this book to teachers, parents, therapists, counselors, and anyone who works with children. It truly will assist our children in a more healthy and safe life.
