Publisher's summary

When hardcore gamer Joshua Fell signed up to participate in the new fully immersive virtual reality MMORPG EvoBorne, he never thought he would leave his world behind and enter into a game like one created by a bunch of dying Gods. Now, tasked with a quest that will almost certainly kill him, Josh must face off against eight champions vying for the same prize; the first to collect five ancient relics can make any request of the Gods they wish. Some wish for power, some wish for glory, and some wish for riches. However, Josh just wishes to go home.

Set in a world full of monsters, dungeons, and so much loot it would make a dragon envious, Josh’s quest will take him places and force him to do things he never thought he could. But if he ever wants to achieve his goal and return home, he will have to make tough choices that will forever change who he thought he was.

Follow Josh on his insane adventure in the first installment of the EvoBorne Saga: Break!

rough start but reeled me in later.

I won a copy in a give away and gave it a shot.

I wasn't a fan of the main character at first but he grew on me later. the world and system seem really good and would pick up the next book to see where he goes with the story. I also got a hint of 7th saga style story.

Can’t wait till book 2

It was exactly what I expected from a lit rpg with a couple of unique twists! The Mc Jack was very relatable, and the antagonist ending was something most readers will probably expect from the subtle hints, but was well done despite that fact! The one thing that stood out for me to give it five stars is Que, and the amazing voice acting that came with him!

Pretty solid

The story was decent, fair character development if somewhat common tropes. Overall a fun enough ride with passable narration. I had never heard Jonathan Schaefer before but he seems to have potential to grow, much the se as the author. I do look forward to the next book in the series and seeing if Mr. Green continues to expand on his magic system and world.

surprisingly addictive

at first it took me a little bit to get into the book, the performance was not the greatest (not the worst but a lot of characters had no identifying change to their voice) however the story by far made up for it and drew me in, I can not wait for the next installment!

Right by numbers

This is a book that well at the ending gives you I could twist is a basic right by numbers for Lit RPGO number one and alienate Main character close friend have a chance to Go into the game number 2 they are trapped there number 3 meet some of the indigenous population MB friend them number 4 find out groups you're trapped and this is how you get out Number 5 Find out a friend is an enemy This had potential problem was if you going to embrace religion and gods from one pantheon or 1 continent then you need to bring the richest of that culture into your book you need to bring the full amount of fat mythos from the very beginning but set of doing that this writer did a basic Right pay numbers instead of studying the source material that he was creating and using that as part of the scenes and characters To it's fullest

overall a good story

I found the story to be rather enjoyable. the only part that fell flat was the slight personality shift. he went from an experienced guild master to being very gullible.
