Publisher's summary

What if the key to your freedom is hanging on the tip of your own nose? Would you grab it?

Over the past decade, Daniel Eisenman has been hosting and facilitating epic retreats in some of the most beautiful places on Earth. He has picked at the golden threads and patterns of human interactions and noticed that so many people kept a lid on their genius, their joy, their growth. This was a self-imposed limitation that kept them in a prison of their own design.

Within Breaking Normal you'll find your personal retreat experience in its most powerful, dynamic, and raw form. The practices and exercises are designed to help you reach deep into your very soul and claim your best dream for yourself and your family.

This book simply shares what Daniel does to ultimately create a safe place for fun, adventure, healing, and transformation. He invites you to sample what it means to be raw and vulnerable, excited, and glowing in the sacred knowledge that your future is whatever you imagine it to be.

THANK YOU

Hi Daniel,
Thank you for this beautiful book. I am so happy you got to write this and you were able to put into words what is so hard to put into words but what we all carry deep inside. And we know it, but it is oh so easy to get lost. Thank you for shining the light! I'm coming to San Diego for 4 days this week and I want to know: what's the best spot to funcomfortably surf??? Keep being you and blessings to your beautiful family.
Irene

Recommend for anyone seeing new perspective & motivation

Breaking Normal was a refreshing and awakening read (or listen) and I say that after already spending many years on a path of higher consciousness and personal development.
It's funny that some of the most blatant, simple truths are the ones that evade us when we are trying to "better ourselves". Daniel's experiences and guidance may seem simple, and my own ego was triggered several times in thinking some things were either TOO simple or perhaps ignorant, but that is all the more reason I soon realized it was exactly what I needed to hear. It is a book I could likely return to many times, as even if we obtain all we desire, we will always be ready to break through new limits and redefine who we are. To master life is to master being uncomfortable, or as Pema Chordron says it "always be thrown out of the nest" and I appreciate Daniel for taking the time to share these proven practices to do so.

In particular, I really enjoyed Ch. 10, which helped remind me to be in even greater trust with my own body's emotions and to take action on them, rather than to project or deny them - a pattern I once had in the past. :)

Also, be sure to listen to the end - my favorite part of the whole book was actually the "acknowledgements". The level of appreciation and awareness Daniel has for the relationships in his life filled my own heart with such great emotion and gratitude, which become added energy to put some of these awesome insights to use.

An impactful journey into doing life differently

What made the experience of listening to Breaking Normal the most enjoyable?

Daniel has a way of not only sharing advice but also taking you with him through his most intimate life experiences. The book made me feel like I was actually hanging out with him. This was powerful because instead of being 'taught' you are actually being led by example through the various exercises and stories that he shares.

What did you learn from Breaking Normal that you would use in your daily life?

Breaking Normal has taught me to be more okay with the parts of me that my typical first reaction is to want to hide. In a normal world we are encouraged to hide the most human parts of us and Daniel cracks that myth right open. He encourages you to not only embrace our human side, but to share it more unapologetically with the world.

Any additional comments?

This book is a catalyst for uncovering and embracing the parts of you that make you uniquely you.

Rediscover your authentic self

Would you consider the audio edition of Breaking Normal to be better than the print version?

I truly enjoyed the audio edition of this book. Hearing Daniel speaking his words seemed to have more impact on me than if it were the print edition.

What was one of the most memorable moments of Breaking Normal?

Each section has powerful ways to look at life differently. Hearing different ways to reframe ideas and beliefs about ourselves and how we relate to others are the most impactful to me.

Have you listened to any of Daniel Eisenman’s other performances before? How does this one compare?

No I have not.

What did you learn from Breaking Normal that you would use in your daily life?

Speaking the truth in the form of letting folks know "I have something to say and I am uncomfortable" and being mindful of the word traps of "should" and "just" while reaffirming my positive words. Being more mindful of my word choices as they reflect my desires.

Any additional comments?

This is a great book filled with ideas to help break out of the internal prison we cage ourselves in. It is presented in a wonderful way filled with examples and humor. Thank you.

Awsome!!

It feels that Daniel has found his power and divinity, which he inspires others to tap into their true essence and genius through the words of this book. Living in a world made of only one coulor, lets say blue, he encourages us to tap into our hearts which in essence can be maid of red, yellow or green and shine it on the world, no matter how odd, weird, irrelevant or innapropriate it may seem to be in the world of blue.

He shares his experiences and provides practical tools how to reach your light, not by nesecerelly giving answeres to the issues of the life, but rather encouraging to ask questions what works for you and what doesnt, to let go of what doesnt and thus choose and act on what does works for each of us.

very authentic

I always had a hard time with audio books, my mind always wanders. Daniel's voice and pace captured my mind, couldn't stop listening even if I wanted to. This is the first time I finished a book in such a short time.
My favorite part was Daniel's confessions, it was crude and that made me feel more human and less lonely. This book is very encouraging and empowering, it definitely bring us closer as human beings by admiting that we are just as weird as everyone else within our own uniqueness. Thank you Daniel
