About this listen

Everyone in my small town thinks I’m the sweet one in the Bedd family, but after a year of financial drama on our farm and a lifetime of being in my hot brothers’ shadows, this kindergarten teacher needs to blow off some steam.

When I meet a sizzling hot reality show chef named Bacon, that steam quickly becomes an inferno and before I know it, my one-night-stand has me screaming “Yes, Chef!” all night long.

All I wanted was one day to escape my small-town existence, forget my troubles and live it up in the city.

Well, I got my wish.

You know what else I got?

Pregnant.

Now I have to face the unforgettable man I left behind.

He’s salty that I lied to him and left him while the sheets were still warm. I don’t blame him one bit, but the clock is ticking until my little pork belly finishes curing and I am determined to thaw his heart before that happens.

Love it!

Colleen and Bacon

A sweet, cute, funny and heartfelt story. I read 3 out of the 4 books in this series by different authors. This is one I liked the most. Colleen is the only female in the Bedd siblings. One day of throwing caution to the wind she propositions Bacon a contestants on a show called Yes, Chef. She ended up leaving satisfied but also with a token of their night together. Bacon is so a cinnamon boyfriend so hard not to like him. Colleen is a kindergarten teacher who like the others is trying to help get the farm out of debt. There is instant chemistry between the two and one steamy hot night. I enjoyed their story and getting cameos from the previous characters.

bacon, Yum

The 4th installment in the Farm 2 Forking series. Colleen & Bacon are too funny together and cute. Colleen is the sister of the men in the previous books and Bacon is a man Colleen meet in New York City.

I love how they met and what it lead up to. I really like the mystery Bacon went thru. I was heartbroken when Colleen took her time away. The ending made me mist up a bit, it was just that sweet. I love this book, all these books are great for curing up with a blanket on a cold day and just reading.

Again Erin Mallon and Alister Haynesbridge did an awesome job voicing all the characters. I love when a series is all voiced by the same narrators.

“Rules never apply to love…”

ARC review - August 2024
Story: 4 ⭐️s

Erin Mallon brings readers the penultimate entry in the joint Farm 2 Forking series, and BHtB is definitely a joyful addition. Any story where the meet cute is sparked by a sexy proposition made with construction paper and primary colored markers can’t be anything but a good time! Add in a few steamy ,“yes, chef” scenes 🔥, a pampered irascible sheep 🐑, some twin energy⚡️, a fantastic matriarch who gets better with every book 👵, and you’ve got some great ingredients for some Bedd family farm fun.

Kindergarten teacher Colleen Bedd wants to pretend, just for one day, that she is someone else. So, while on a day trip to NYC, she propositions chef and tv cooking competition contestant, Harold “Bacon” Hotman. They have instant chemistry leading to some smexy shenanigans on top of a an already deeper connection. Still, she’s gone by morning, and having given him a false name, doesn’t expect their paths to cross again. But being that one of the tropes Mallon deploys here is “oops-baby”, things don’t quite work out that way. Plus, on her return, the tv show and Bacon in particular have become favorites with grandma Ethel; so getting back to her reality is not going as Colleen assumed. The story that unfolds from there is a good time for all.

Mallon has crafted a funny and sweet romance between two MCs who genuinely help bring out the best in one another. Colleen is a bit stuck, wanting to make a change in her work, and Bacon has a goal that the prize for winning the tv competition can help him achieve. Their commitment to their individual dreams is not diminished by their relationship, and both support each others ambitions. Bacon is driven, talented, and sexy - the whole package - and he is completely into Colleen from the jump. Though they absolutely have a mutual attraction, he definitely falls first (another well-deployed trope on Mallon’s part). And while Colleen may be more gun shy emotionally, she gets there, and their journey to HEA is enjoyable.

The Bedd family interactions in this book are entertaining, with some fun group scenes - the family meeting about Colleen’s pregnancy, as well as when the brothers take Bacon to the bar, are a couple of memorable ones. And while I adore Sam and Colleen’s twin moment, Ethel is the true standout among the Bedd family members here. Her scenes with Colleen are especially wonderful - often as hilarious as they are heartfelt. I love how Ethel has been further fleshed out in both this book, as she was in Grey’s book previously.

For me, the only dings with BHtB come from the pacing after Bacon gets to Fork Lick and the catalyst for the third act separation feeling a bit contrived. As regards the pacing, because there were more time jumps as the story progressed, it could sometimes feel like there was more telling moments than showing ones. For the feeling of third act contrivance, I just don’t buy that the character whose comments send Colleen into a doubt spiral, is established with enough clout to have that impact. From the start she is someone Colleen doesn’t take seriously, so her being the planter of that seed of doubt was a bit off. Still, I had a grand time returning to Fork Lick, and the cast of characters are so lovable, they ease the hiccups. There is definitely potential for this to be a really fun audiobook; so I look forward to hopefully revisiting Colleen and Bacon’s love story in that form.

I received an ARC copy of this book via the author. All opinions expressed are my own.

Audiobook Addendum- December 2024
Narration: 5 ⭐️s

This one was exactly as much fun in audiobook form as I guessed it would be! After all, who better to portray Colleen Bedd than the writer who created her? Erin Mallon proves a double threat as she takes on narrator duties for BHtB; she’s a great performer and she adds all the humor and pathos so central to Colleen’s character. Her skills also continue to add layers to Ethel, a character who I just adore! The scenes between grandmother ant granddaughter are so full of heart - just lovely! Mallon has a great partner in Alastair Haynesbridge, who is more than a match for her when it comes to handling Bacon; whether playing the fun, the sincere, or the sexy, he nails it every time. This is another fun audio addition to the F2F series, and a definite recommendation!

I’m grateful to have received an ALC copy of the audiobook via Home Cooked Books. All opinions expressed are my own.

𝐈𝐧 the 4th installment of the Farm 2 Forking series, we are treated to a cute and quirky story by 𝐄𝐫𝐢𝐧 𝐌𝐚𝐥𝐥𝐨𝐧. Colleen, a kindergarten teacher, decides to shake things up and has a chance encounter with a famous chef, resulting in a memorable one-night stand. When she discovers she's pregnant with his child, she's unsure of what to expect.

𝐁𝐚𝐜𝐨𝐧 doesn't disappoint, he steps up to the plate as soon as he learns the news, proving to be a supportive and eager father-to-be. Their story is heartwarming and completely hilarious. The Bedd brothers and grandma are especially entertaining, and as always, Baabara made me laugh with her very Baabara shenanigans.

𝐈 thoroughly enjoyed this audiobook. The narration by Erin Mallon & Alastair Haynesbridge perfectly captures the essence of these characters.

𝐎𝐯𝐞𝐫𝐚𝐥𝐥, for those looking for a feel-good small town romance, this audiobook is a must-listen!

Loved Colleen & Bacon

I really enjoyed Colleen and Bacon's story. This had the classic Erin Mallon whit, and I couldn't get enough of them. The narration was spectacular as always. I really love Erin and Alastair paired up together.

Colleen was trying to break out and have a little bit of fun on a trip to New York. While she was there, she attended a taping of a cooking show and immediately had her eye set on one contestant...Bacon. They hit it off immediately, but she wasn't completely honest about who she was and what she was doing in the city. After their incredible night together, she thought she would go back home and move on with her life. She wasn't planning on bringing home some of the Bacon with her.

Bacon was very disappointed that Colleen left the way she did. He can't get this woman out of his mind, so he enlists the help of his friend to find her. It took some time, but he finally located where she actually lived. This is when he realizes she lied to him, and he believes she isn't the person he should have in his life.

Then one day, she shows up and gives Bacon all he has dreamed of...Bacon Bits. I loved that Bacon was so happy about the turn his life was taking. Bacon and Colleen were just the perfect couple and I loved them.

This was the first book in this series that I have read, but I do plan to go back and read the others.

Get ready to laugh, swoon, and fall in love!

I completely devoured this delicious small town romcom. I was smiling from ear to ear, enjoying this hilarious, heartfelt, and sizzling romance. Colleen is a sweet kindergarten teacher who is tired of being overlooked, and used to get to her hot brothers. She decides to let loose when she visits New York. She finds her perfect chance to be someone different, when she meets the hot, sizzling chef, Bacon. Bacon is enthralled by Collen instantly, and they have a night of sizzling passion. Bacon is distressed when she is gone the next morning, and he doesn't know how to find her. Colleen also really liked Bacon, but she felt guilty for lying about who she was, and knew he could never love a small-town teacher like her. Fast forward 4 months, and Bacon finally finds the girl of his dreams, along with a surprise! Can this famous big city Chef find happiness with a small-town farm girl, with over protective brothers, and a meddling grandmother and her sheep? I loved how Colleen and Bacon find their way to each other, and how they discovered, together, true love and friendship on the farm. Colleen and Bacon are so perfect for each other, balancing each other out. Colleen is so caring, independent, and passionate about her family, and the farm, and Bacon was so thoughtful, supportive, and swoony as he won over Colleen, and all of her quirky family. I always love Erin Mallon's books, because they make me laugh, they make me swoon, they can be pretty hot, and they always have loads of heart. This is the perfect recipe for the best romcom books and she fails to deliver. So get ready to laugh, swoon, and fall in love down on the farm.
Alastair Haynesbridge and Erin Mallon continue to narrate this series. Their voices are so versatile, and are a pleasure to listen too as they bring these characters and stories to life!

Funny, witty listen with great narration

If you are looking for a funny, witty, small town romantic comedy look no further than Bringing Home The Bacon the latest book in the Farm 2 Forking Series written by multiple authors. This is kindergarten teacher Colleen Murphy Bedd and reality star, hot chef Bacon’s entertaining story and you will want to read this hilarious, laugh out loud journey.
This was the book I have been waiting for because from the moment I met Colleen I knew she had a very special story and I needed to know she got her own HEA.

Erin Mallon and Alastair Haynesbridge did a wonderful job bringing the characters and their story to life. They were spot on with the passion, the love and the drama but more importantly they got the humour.

Colleen loves her family and will do what ever is needed on the family farm but she is also strong, sassy and very independent. Bacon is the man you will fall hard and fast for and the chemistry this couple share is off the charts. So what happens when one night of passion turns into a surprise pregnancy …..one click this gem to find out.
This book has it all, I laughed, I giggled, I swooned and I held my breath. I love the shenanigans on the farm and what can I say about a sheep named Baabara. A book full of love and laughter and it’s a perfect addition to this hilarious series.

A baking show!

I listened to the audio version of this book narrated by Erin Mallon and Alastair Haynesbridge. They have done the whole series. I normally don't like it when multiple books in a series are narrated by the same performers, but I have to say it isn't bugging me this time. I really love their voices, so that may be why. They do a fantastic job of making the individual characters come to life.

This story centers around the only female of all the Bedd siblings, Colleen. Her love interest is Bacon, who has been participating in a baking show. The two come together after Colleen is in the audience of the show, and things really heat up fast.

I loved the antics involved in their coming together, the ridiculous things she says to him, and the funny name for a particular body part. I also loved the "pork party" her family threw when he was introduced to them. I'm all for slapstick type humor, and this had plenty!

The funnies remind me of books by Jill Shalvis. I really do think the narration adds a lot to the story. The narrators' deliveries are just so good!

I binge read this book in one day and it made me smile so hard! Erin Mallon and Alastair Haynesbridge delivered a phenomenal performance!! Erin has an amazing voice and she has become one of my favorite narrators. Bags gives the characters perfect emotion, personality and voice.
