Acerca de esta escucha

Dear Chelsea,

I know what you must think of me now that my secret is out, and I can’t say I’m not disappointed. I bloody loved that you saw me as someone other than the bloke my entire country has deemed unworthy of love. Maybe I am, but that doesn’t stop me from wanting you as desperately as I do.

Before you toss this letter in the rubbish bin, just hear me out.

Soon, I’ll need to return home to face the critics - the harsh reminder of the man they all believe me to be, the Forever Bachelor - and you’ll continue to live out your dreams here while nannying the twins. Simon and Bridget are so very lucky to have you.

All I ask is for one night with you, one night to remove the facade we’ve exhibited for the past two weeks to mask our true feelings.

Because I want you, Chelsea Banks, more than I’ve wanted any woman in my entire life, and I dare to imagine that you might just want me too.

Even if just for one night.

It's a cute book. Would be better if they took more time to develop the main female character. She lacked a lot of depth, so I didn't really find her very interesting. The male character was more fascinating than the female. I was confused how her parents could afford to go to England so often yet not help her with school?
Over all it was cute but I'm going to listen to it once and that's about it.

cute but not original

I have no shame in admitting anything British has my interest. While I'm not a Bachelor fan, I am a Liam fan!

Liam steals the show and hearts in British Bachelor all with his charm, his sweatpants, and his accent. Okay so his accent is a plus...his tattoos lickable...(abs too).

Lol. This British Bachelor has a fan club, a novel, and the girl. Guess he did win after all!

This was my first K.K. Allen book and I know it won't be my last. I really enjoyed this book. It was funny, charming, sexy, and sweet. I loved Liam and Chelsea. Them together was everything. Chelsea was strong and sassy and knew what she wanted. Liam is trying to get a break at the mess that's happening around him. It was nice to see them become friends, than more than just friends. Their whole journey was sweet.

The audio was perfect.

Loved it! ♥️

The writing is quite banal, but even worse the story seems to only be pushed forward by the stupidity of the main characters. This would have been fine if they had been written as two rather unintelligent people but they weren't, which made all the drama following their farce-like actions and reactions to things happening feel very contrived. And the constant repetitions of how bad it supposedly was of the MMC to "break three women's hearts" by not choosing any of the women left in the finale of the British Bachelor show, and how angry all the viewers supposedly were by this, in a show whose very basis is that he was supposed to "break" two of the hearts feels equally contrived.

I should also point out that the book read very much like written by an American in how it referenced England and English culture, which made it feel even more immature. Just like the FMC felt very immature (she's supposed to be almost 30 years old) being so worried about getting lost in London - as if missing the right underground station isn't extremely easily fixed by simply getting off at the next stop and taking the same line back one stop rather than "getting lost!" or as if not having more than 200 pounds in cash isn't easily handled for anyone having a credit/debit card (they do use those in London, and even England at large, after all).

All this made it very difficult to engage at all in the plight of the characters. Particularly how they caused all their problems themselves, but not in a way that was usually dealt with in the book as room for growth or shown to be part of their growing.

The narrators did a very good job of it though.

Repetitive and unengaging

How many ways can you describe tingles, shivers, and chills? I think this author was going for the Guiness world record.

The dialogue is very chinsy, juvenile, predictable and reads more like a teen romance I used to read when I was 15. The looks.... the smiles.... them "thinking" the other is "just so perfect" make me nausiated. The overall written tension that just makes them sound like teenagers not knowing what to do, but make no doubt the author has given them histories that makes them know what to do, but for whatever reason, the fates are making them act different with each other. I just can't...

The only reason to continue is for Will Watts narration as he's trying to give some kind of depth to the characters that really isn't there and he gets credit where it us due. Howevrr, i might have to put this up for a few days.

*sigh* Two hours in and I'm just annoyed...
