Publisher's summary

Music was his first love. Hers was the lanky boy from summer camp with a beautiful voice and starlit green eyes.

Isabelle and Roman thought they’d be together until the end of time. Then fate proved an orphan from the West Coast couldn’t have a future with a wealthy New Yorker hiding the scars of an abusive home. Five years after their hearts are broken, fate strikes again when they’re reunited as a waitress headlining a bar-band, and a successful rockstar kicking off his first tour. Even though the past nearly destroyed them both, the attraction is stronger than ever, and Roman refuses to let a second chance with the girl he promised to love forever slip away.

But picking at old wounds proves to be dangerous when the reasons they were driven apart as kids won’t stay buried forever.

2nd chance love

This story is about two tortured souls who lost each other only to have a second chance of love. But, will the demons of their past keep them from the love they still have for each other? Roman and Belle had an instant attraction the first time they met at music camp. He was the rich boy falling for the poor girl. Their friendship turned into love, only life getting in the way! What made Belle leave so suddenly when he needed her the most? 5 years later the they met by chance, the attraction was still there!
Being a rockstar has its challenges. Will Belle trust Roman that his intentions are true? or does she believe the lies she's being told? Why won't Belle confide him in and tell him her darkest secrets?
Many unanswered Questions, secrets, betrayal, jealousy, love and steamy sex, and the people who tried to keep them apart revealed!
I thoroughly was drawn into the rockstar story! Sarah Puckett and Michael Norman Johnson tell the story with tenderness and with so much emotion. I was gifted this audio and offered my honest review. Thank you

So good!

I received this audiobook from Audiobook Obsession in exchange for an honest review.

The overall story of this book, I thought was wonderful. It starts out in Part One when they are teenagers attending a summer camp, and ends in Part Two when they are adults and trying to make careers for themselves. I enjoy these types of books because you get a really good backstory as to why they are who they are and the beginnings of their relationship. Part Two was probably my favorite, just because teen love stories really aren't my cup of tea, even though I realize it was necessary to understand Part Two.

The narration was really wonderful. I really like how Sarah Puckett reads Isabelle's POV and Michael Norman Johnson reads Roman's POV. I have listened to some books before that Sarah narrated and I love the way she reads and adds emotion to bring the stories to life.

Overall, I really enjoyed this book and will be reading more of Jennifer Ann in the future. This book was about singers, so there were actual songs throughout, which was nice instead of just reading off lyrics.

Little things make this one great!

I absolutely adore the audiobooks where you get to hear Sarah Puckett sing. She has such an amazing voice when she is narrating that when you add in her actually singing, it just elevates the performance even more. Michael Norman Johnson is a new voice to me and I really liked him in this book. Didn't really know what to expect when I first started listening to it, but I really enjoyed the listen and the story progression. Overall a very good book and stellar performance by both narrators.

Then/now story—-one part fantastic!

I’m struggling with my rating on this book. The story is written in 2 parts.. a then and now. The “then” being a young hero and heroine that meet at band camp under circumstances that wouldn’t have brought them together otherwise. The relationship is passionate and sweet and just everything. I loved every bit of it.

The “now” is a poor woman who meets a rich rockstar and reads like many other rockstar romance. The story is mediocre and somewhat boring.

I’m so upset because if I could rate these separately the then would be 4.5 stars. The now would be 2. So rating at a 3 doesn’t seem fair to either part of the book.

Five HUGE stars.. for the story AND the narration!!!

I loved this so much!! Isabelle is a talented young singer who wins a scholarship to a prestigious music camp at age 13. On the first day she is made fun of by Brooke... who is just mean. Brookes friend Roman , tells Brooke to cut it out... and a friendship between Roman and Isabelle begins.

Roman is from a wealthy family, he’s extremely talented, both as a singer and a songwriter. His father thinks music is a waste of time and money. But he’s at music camp, and he has made a new friend in Isabelle.

Their friendship continues for several years, and then one day... they fight and she disappears from his life.

There is so much going on in Isabelle and Romans lives, and they are so very different.. not yo mention the fact that Romans father is a real ass*#~•! Will they fine each other again? Can they get past differences? What will Roman do when he finds out the truth?

Jennifer Ann’s writing skill is very much evident in this story. She wrote a deeply emotional book here. I love how she draws you into the story and makes you a part of it. And in my opinion, there wasn’t a better choice of narrators for this... Sarah Puckett is fantastic and she does this book justice with her ability to project emotion and her voice quality. Michael Norman Johnson also does a great job with the music.

Sweet Second Chance

This is a sweet second chance romance. I love Roman, he’s a sweetheart and determined to win back Isabelle. You really see how both characters have grown and the effects life had in them during their time apart. They both had a rough time and my heart went out to them. Their chemistry is fantastic and I couldn’t help but root for them.

I always love Sarah Puckett’s narration and this was no different. Michael Norman Johnson complimented her perfectly and they brought the story to life.

Great as a NA Novel

I came to this novel as a huge fan of Ms. Puckett’s narration. Once again she did not disappoint. However, based on the book description and the cover, I had different expectations for this novel. Initially I felt that Mr. Johnson’s narration was a bit immature, but subsequently realized it was the material he was given to narrate. With that in mind I started changing my expectations of the novel and it became much more enjoyable.

Ms. Ann drafts an intricate story with a mystery and backstory that keep you guessing until the end. I enjoyed the way she explored young love through subsequent summer jaunts, and it reminded me of summer crushes I once had. I also liked the use of different points of view for the narration and thus the two narrators for the recorded version.

I was provided with a free copy of this audio book for my honest review. The views expressed here are entirely my own.

Excellent Audible book

I asked to receive this free review Audible book and wrote this unbiased review. Jennifer Ann has written a captivating story of first love, mistakes made, parental abuse, parental support and sacrifices, misunderstandings, and a second chance for love. Even though Isabelle's family was poor and Roman's was rich they both faced family problems. The character development is heartwarming and heart-wrenching to watch. We watch them go from teenagers that make mistakes and have misunderstandings to adults that are still in love but must face demons from their past. The author made you feel all of the emotions that the characters felt. They faced so many challenges that most teenagers and young adults thankfully don't have to face.

The narrators did a wonderful job of portraying the emotions and personalities of these characters and this brought them to life. They gave them age appropriate voices. They held my attention throughout the story. I highly recommend this Audible book. Isabelle and Roman had to conquer so many obstacles to be together.

Young Love, Then and Now

Broken Little Melodies by Jennifer Ann first appealed to me with the narrator of Sarah Puckett. She is so talented and really adds so much to a book. I love second chance at love stories, and Belle and Roman needed theirs. This book has secrets, betrayals, jealousy, steamy scenes, and so much more. Michael Norman Johnson also did a great job with his performance. Both narrators brought the characters to life and they have good chemistry.
