Publisher's summary

The two original Buck Rogers novellas.

Buck Rogers was a huge success, spawning many imitators such as Flash Gordon.

Despite being written prior to World War II, the story line accurately foreshadowed several notable advancements in technology: bazookas, consumer e-purchasing, immersive telepresence, night vision devices, optical devices for small arms such as the red-dot sight, paratroopers, remote piloted surveillance and attack drones, telecommuting, and wireless phones - including the flip phone!

Good and bad

Nolan’s story telling is a wonderful slice of science fiction history and is prescient in many ways. The Harry Potter of its day.

The performance was like cold dry white toast left on the counter overnight.

Who annunciates like this?

A good story we’ll told… except the narration. He annunciates in a very unnatural way. His emphasis are misplaced (on purpose?).
