Critic reviews

“A terrific saga.” (Midwest Book Review)

“[Briggs] spins tales of werewolves, coyote shifters and magic and, my, does she do it well.... If you like action, violence, romance and, of course, werewolves, then I urge you to pick up this series.” (USAToday.com)

“Interesting, fast-paced urban fantasy.... [An] imaginative writer who always leaves fans anxiously waiting for the next tale.” (Monsters and Critics)

I honestly don't know how Patricia Briggs does it!

Absolutely loved it! I was so sad when I was getting near the end. I loved that the rest of the Aspen Creek Pack was more involved in the story but now I have a long time to wait for the next book 😔

One of the best books in series

I liked the mystery and Anna learning more about her abilities. l wish the Author would stop triggering her past abuse and allow her to truly move on.

Wildlings... just wow

This book takes us on a different adventure. The Marrok’s pack is under attack from the inside. The race is on to not only warm the wildlings that make up a part of Bran’s pack, but to stop the intruders and people out for blood.

I have to say that I was worried I’d figured out who the traitor in the pack was... and it kind of broke my heart, I am happy to say I was wrong and sort of right at the same time. Lol

A tangled web of crazy and disillusion all wrapped up in a nice big bundle of fighting, memories and hurt. The Marrok’s pack is closer Ann while being broken after the recent transgressions but I’m sure everything will work itself out, it always seems to.

Charles and Anna beat the Black Witch!

urban-fantasy, werewolves, shifters, betrayal, witches

Another riveting installment centering on Charles and Anna Kornik and Bran's pack in the mountains of Montana. The publisher's blurb gives clues but doesn't prepare the reader for the awful events. There are more twists and red herrings than some of the best mystery novels. This one is another great thrill ride!
Holter Graham is perfect for this series!

Just WOW!

Briggs delivers another top-notch, well-developed, well-written story that is absolutely worth the wait and the asking price.
Holter Graham does a very good job with the narration.

Enjoyable, but ...

I enjoyed the story , but it's very dense and if you are not a follower if the storyline could be confusing.

I did not see that coming!

As always, the combination of Holter Graham's performance and Patricia Briggs' writing is a winning combination. As the fifteenth book set in the Mercyverse, this story has the perfect balance of revisiting old friends as well as shocking revelations.

I love Anna and Charles

I love this series. The connection between Anna & Charles gets stronger with each book. The narration is wonderful, as always, and the storyline was filled with intriguing little twists. I'm waiting impatiently for March 2021 to get the next installment.

Terrific tale with unexpected twists

One beloved character (I won't say who) turns out to be a traitor and while I'm sad the change does fit in with the full tale and has provided a whole new universe of really bad guys for future books. I loved this book and can't wait to see where it goes. I love that Anna continues to heal and to grow stronger and that Charles' humor slips out more (still rare, but definitely there). As usual, Holter Graham does a superb job with the narration.
