About this listen
In this gripping sequel to the thriller, The Martian Conspiracy, John Orville's family is abducted by paranoid billionaire, Hoshi Tsukino.
Under the guise of a nuclear apocalypse, a group calling itself the Preservation Society kidnaps 10,000 people. The "survivors" travel to Callisto, Jupiter's outermost Galilean moon, where they form a utopian society, free from drones and AI.
Two years later, escaped fugitive Henry Allen the Third, better known as H3, arrives on Callisto. He ascends to power and prepares to defend Callisto against a team of military-trained NASA astronauts, including one John Orville.

Story
Sagara Sousuke isn't your typical high school student. He reads military enthusiast magazines; he responds to questions with "affirmative;" he brings grenades to school in his bag. Though everyone at school takes him for a hopeless military geek, Chidori Kaname thinks there might be something more to him. When their plane is hijacked in the middle of a field trip, Kaname's instincts will prove correct: Sousuke is an elite, mech-piloting mercenary... and he's here to protect her!

Story
When the biggest colony ship in human history was sent to settle a paradise world, an accident hurtled it deep into uncharted space. A thousand light years from Earth, with no way home and no way to call for help, the colonists’ only hope for survival was the one barely habitable planet in range, a nightmare world they named Croatoan. Landing on the only five mountain peaks tall enough to rise above the lethal acid clouds, the settlers carved a civilization from the rock.

Story
Exploring the boundaries of the genre, Bova not only writes of spaceships, aliens, and time travel in most of his titles, but also speculates on the beginnings of science fiction in “Scheherazade and the Storytellers,” as well as the morality of man in “The Angel’s Gift.” Stories such as “The Café Coup” and “We’ll Always Have Paris” dip into speculative historical fiction, asking questions about what would happen if someone could change history for the better. This expansive collection is a key addition for Bova fans and sci-fi lovers alike!

The neons do as they're told. Chemically bound to their masters by the experimental chemi-chip implant created from alien technology, they are genetically engineered at rapid rates to be servants for the survivors of the war against alien invaders. Without neons, reconstruction would be impossible. Colin Hanston - the unremarkable son of the genius who invented the chemi-chip - leads a simple life as a farmer, helping feed his district as any good citizen should. But when he redeems his voucher for a neon servant of his own named Michael, everything changes.

War looms on the horizon.... After the colonization of Mars and Europa, it took us fewer than five generations to reach beyond our solar system and colonize new planets capable of supporting human life. Narration is a bust.
Poor John. He writes good books, but can’t catch a break on the narrators. Martian one was a horrible voice actor (but read fine) this one is a horrible reader sounding like an AI bot except when doing voices… she’s ok with voices.
