Publisher's summary

With the same wicked humor, buoyant charm, and optimism that have made her Shopaholic novels beloved international best sellers, Sophie Kinsella delivers a hilarious new novel and an unforgettable new character.

Meet Emma Corrigan, a young woman with a huge heart, an irrepressible spirit, and a few little secrets:

Secrets from her mother: I lost my virginity in the spare bedroom with Danny Nussbaum while Mum and Dad were downstairs watching Ben-Hur. Sammy the goldfish in my parents’ kitchen is not the same goldfish that Mum gave me to look after when she and Dad were in Egypt.

Secrets from her boyfriend: I weigh 128 pounds. Not 118, like Connor thinks. I’ve always thought Connor looks a bit like Ken. As in Barbie and Ken.

From her colleagues: When Artemis really annoys me, I feed her plant orange juice. (Which is pretty much every day.) It was me who jammed the copier that time. In fact, all the times.

Secrets she wouldn’t share with anyone in the world: My G-string is hurting me. I have no idea what NATO stands for. Or even what it is.

Until she spills them all to a handsome stranger on a plane. At least, she thought he was a stranger.

But come Monday morning, Emma’s office is abuzz about the arrival of Jack Harper, the company’s elusive CEO. Suddenly Emma is face to face with the stranger from the plane, a man who knows every single humiliating detail about her. Things couldn’t possibly get worse - until they do.

Very Cute!

This is a very cute book and exactly what I want to read when I read a book by Sophie Kinsella. This makes for a light, fluffy, fun beach read. If you like sweet, modern, funny romcoms, this book is for you. Enjoy.

Couldn't Stop Listening

This book was the most entertaining book I've downloaded since The Devil Wears Prada. I found tasks to do at work that wouldn't require a lot of brain power just so I could keep listening. I went to dinner with my husband and gave him my pda so he could play Jawbreaker and I wouldn't feel guilty for listening to the book while waiting for dinner. It's a very lighthearted romp and was easy to get drawn into the story and the characters. I could have done without the f* word, but otherwise I loved it.

Unfortunately, this version is abridged

I LOVE this title and originally took out of the library but liked it so much I purchased it here. I didn't realize at the time that it was an abridged version - it's missing some of it's funniest parts! and all those great details that make these novels so wonderful. I enjoyed the version with Kate Reading narrating a lot more.

Loved it!

I love the way Sophie Kinsella takes you into another world and tells a story including all the really uncomfortable bits... she is witty and funny and rounds out the stories... she makes me laugh and cringe all in one paragraph... it’s a great escape from the perils of the real world.

Exciting and Fresh

This book was exciting and fresh for a leisure book. I travel for work and enjoyed this so much, I listened to it twice! I could actually see this story happening in real life. The main character at times can be a little annoying but who could blame her with the situation that she finds herself in. All in all, an excellent book to listen to anytime.

Fun!

The story is not as developed as her Shopaholic series, but it's still a fun read. This new updated reader is so much better than the original.

Perfect Book...but narrator skipped some parts

This is my all-time favorite book. I had to buy two audible versions to hear them both! While this narrator fit heroine Emma perfectly, she skipped some key bits of the book which was disappointing, but did not totally take away from the experience. I wondered why there were two versions, two narrators and more than three hours difference on length.
Still, this is a perfect, lighthearted story and i loved every minute!

Got me laughing

Loved it! I wish I had downloaded the unabridged though, I didn't realize I selected this one, but it was very funny nonetheless.

Liked this book a lot

The book had a lot of silly, funny things, but there was an undercurrent that kept it from being just fluff. Sophie Kinsella is one of my favorites. I am not a fan of abridged books, but I wanted to listen to the story narrated by Emily Gray - she is perfect for Sophie Kinsella books. The Shopaholic books were wonderful at the beginning of the series when they were narrated by Emily Gray - amazing. Later in the series the second narrator was OK, but at the end of the series the narrator was not OK at all. The reader can make a book come alive - or kill the book. When I read reviews that complain about the narrator, I download the book on Kindle instead of suffering through a bad read. This book was just right.

Super funny!

I really loved this story, it was so entertaining. I would recommed it to anyone. Just don't start it before bed, because you will want to finish the whole thing.
