Publisher's summary

Bob thought BSR might be able to do some business with Homm and his people.

It turns out he was wrong, but their ancestors had left knowledge the company could use. Watch the crew try to recover the knowledge without getting mixed up in their troubles. Of course, Bob picks up another apprentice for Scotti along the way.

Wonderful!

I just love this series. I downloaded this book this morning and it’s done. I like how the series is progressing as each book builds on the previous books. Can’t wait to see where Bob and Nikki go next.

another wonderful story!

Yet again, Jerry Boyd hits it out of the park. Add in Chris's reading, you have perfect space opera with a comedic twist.

Keep up the good work.

Too short, I guess I'll

just have to listen to it again and again. Plenty of context and the usual jokes that nevr get old

still fun.

not as exciting as some of his other offerings, but the story continues to evolve and it's still fun. dealing with a couple of different alien archives was interesting, but not as ultimately as exciting as I had hoped. I suspect you could comfortably skip this particular book in the series and not miss anything, but if you've been enjoying them to date the characters are still doing their same zany best all the time. still recommended.

starting to wish for a spacing

I'm beginning to wonder about the writing skills of the author. I'm committed to the story, but the writing is beginning to become tiresome with each book. The protagonist, Bob, with his drama queen attitude is really starting to annoy me. I'm so over hearing him complain how he must be perfect with running the fleet because so many people are depending on him to know what he is doing. We get it, and have gotten it the first eight times he said it and turns around and says he is just a pitiful hill billy. The constant use of the same one-liners and scenarios 3 or 4 times in every book has gotten old over time. Trust me, constantly having characters say how fun it is to "wind you up" is not funny anymore. I just feel that the author has limited ability to write his books without so much unnecessary repetitive filler. I realize that some of my problem with this is from my listening to the books in such a short amount time. But, even if I spaced them apart, I would still be tempted to space the dude for being so overly dramatic and pitiful. I think I'm gonna listen to the latest book recorded and released in October and be done with Bob and Nikki, even if Audible releases another book.
