Publisher's summary

Justin Blackwood can't remember a time when he believed in the magic of anything, least of all love. A cynical businessman who grew up in a broken home, he guards his heart with every breath he takes. His job has taken him all over the world, and roots are the last thing he wants...until he meets a beautiful innkeeper in Whisper Lake.

Warmhearted, free-spirited Lizzie Cole wants it all - the dream job of running her own inn and a man who wants to settle down. Despite a previous romantic setback, she still believes in happily ever after and her perfect soul mate. She just has to find him. While the dark-haired man with the shockingly blue eyes makes her heart beat faster, Justin Blackwood is the last man who should leave her breathless. He's her complete opposite and they don't want the same things.

But when a lunar eclipse throws Whisper Lake into darkness, Lizzie and Justin find themselves struggling to fight the moonlight and a love that could change their lives - if they're willing to take the risk.

Don't miss this emotional, heartwarming romance from number one New York Times best-selling author Barbara Freethy!

Very disappointing narrator

Let me begin by saying I'm a big fan of Barbara Freethy, and have enjoyed many of her books - both reads and listens. This is the first time I've heard this narrator, and I don't want to be critical, but she needs to understand that just because a person sings country music doesn't mean they talk with a southern drawl. Chesea is from Colorado, not Alabama. I grew up in Alabama and I don't have a southern accent, however, people I know do have a southern accent, and the narrator's southern accent was very difficult to listen to. I almost stopped listening to the book. There was no need for her to use a southern accent because Chelsea is not from the south and the previous narrator did not use a southern accent for Chelsea, so this was inconsistent from Book 2 to Book 3. The only salvation was that Chelsea didn't speak a lot in book 3. Other than the southern accent, the narrator did a good job. Hopefully Audible can "fix" this.

I would still strongly suggest that the author insist on a do-over to salvage her work. I see Book 4 also has this narrator, which was disappointing. I'm still in process of listening to this book, but I may have to ask for a refund for this one and book 4 and find a copy of book 4 to read vs listening.
