ADHD may be the defining diagnosis of our time. According to the latest data, more than 10 percent of American children (that’s 7.1 million kids) have been diagnosed with ADHD. And the number of stimulant prescriptions for adults in their 30s has shot up nearly threefold since 2012. In recent years, this explosion in demand has combined with other factors to create a widespread stimulant shortage in the US. In the second installment of Backfired, cohosts Leon Neyfakh and Arielle Pardes look at the unintended consequences of the ADHD industry, and trace the surprising path that brought us here.

Although clinical research has been conducted on narcissism as a disorder, less is known about its effects on victims who are in toxic relationships with partners with Narcissistic Personality Disorder. Individuals with this disorder engage in chronic devaluation and manipulation of their partners, a psychological and emotional phenomenon known as "narcissistic abuse". Unfortunately, the full extent of what narcissistic abuse entails is not taught in any psychology class or diagnostic manual.

The Antidote is a series of journeys among people who share a single, surprising way of thinking about life. What they have in common is a hunch about human psychology: that it’s our constant effort to eliminate the negative that causes us to feel so anxious, insecure, and unhappy. And that there is an alternative "negative path" to happiness and success that involves embracing the things we spend our lives trying to avoid.

Offers a solution to sustain "dieting" goals long-term
This book does a great job with offering a "dieting" solution that's more sustainable long-term than most trendy diets tend to be. While the theme centers on weight loss, the author also speaks to the ways in which carb cycling will help with overall health, including building strength, as well.
I particularly appreciated that this book didn't try to force the reader into thinking carb cycling is the only viable solution. Instead, it explored the pros and cons of multiple approaches and offered references when possible. An accompanying PDF is also provided, making it easy for the reader to learn more about the references cited.
While I appreciate that this book is written in a way to specifically tailor to endomorph women, I believe there are also some valuable insights in here that can be beneficial for people of all body types. The author does a great job explaining the ways in which macronutrients work and offering solutions to optimize them in a way that best fits your lifestyle.

practical and solid guide
Finally a book understands endomorph women. Their bodies are different, they have softer bodies with curves, they have a wide waist and hips and large bones, while that doesn't mean they are overweighted. So the diet, especially the carb cycling is different for them. It has a different focus, different rules. There are many advices you could find online. However many are actually quite generic, that lacks the understanding of this particular body type. This book is a very practical and sophisticated guide of carb cycling particularly designed for endomorph women.

Wonderful Information for Healthy Eating
For endomorph women seeking a sustainable and effective weight loss strategy, Bridget Blanton's Carb Cycling for Endomorph Women offers a unique and promising approach. The book challenges conventional low-carb diets, arguing that a tailored carb cycling plan can deliver better results while accommodating specific body types.
Blanton's approach is refreshing. She acknowledges that one-size-fits-all diets often fail, emphasizing the importance of understanding individual body composition and tailoring a plan accordingly. By focusing on carb cycling specifically for endomorph women, she provides a targeted strategy that leverages their unique physiological characteristics.
One of the book's strengths is its emphasis on simplicity. Blanton offers a clear and easy-to-follow carb cycling plan that avoids complex macro tracking and calorie counting. This makes the diet more accessible and less overwhelming, making it easier to stick to.
Additionally, the book provides valuable insights into exercise, supplements, and overcoming weight loss plateaus. By addressing these key factors, Blanton offers a comprehensive approach to weight management.
