About this listen
Boy, girl, artist, advocate. Courtney is more than the sum of her parts.
Meet Shane Jenek. Raised in the Brisbane suburbs by loving parents, Shane realises from a young age that he's not like all the other boys. At a performing arts agency, he discovers his passion for song, dance and performance, and makes a promise to himself: to find a bigger stage.
Meet Courtney Act. Born in Sydney around the turn of the millennium, Courtney makes her name in the gay bars of Oxford Street and then on Australian Idol. Over ten years later, she makes star turns on RuPaul's Drag Race and Celebrity Big Brother UK, bringing her unique take on drag and gender to the world.
Behind this rise to national and global fame is a story of searching for and finding oneself. Most of all, it’s a bloody good time.

Importantly Poignant
This is a truly fun experience. Really well read and the story is more than what you think a person in their 30's would have to write about. This is a self help book without banging you over the head with self help. Truly a fantastic listen.

A Class Act
Shane/Courtney’s story is a mix of reflection, memories, lessons learned, and guidebook of queer culture. They also do a great job bringing it to life in the audiobook.

Gentle Soul
After this book I can say I understand Courtney more than ever! Before I took her as a typical gay from WeHo but I mean growing up gay has never been easy. All her walls and questions made me realize, we think the same way.

Didn’t catch it
I’ve enjoyed Courtney sense drag race season 6 now I was looking forward to her book unfortunately what I realized is the story was a little all over the place. I wish their was tighter story telling and when choosing to focus on gender identity and what have u the. Focus on it don’t make it seem like an after thought.
