Love Jill Sinclair
If you're into thrillers in even the smallest way, you're going to love this. Jill Sinclair is the protagonist everyone wants--he literally goes out and gets things done. Love this character, amazing job!

intense filler filled with action
This book grabs you fast and won't release you. I loved how Jill isn't just battling bad guys but is caught between shady agents and billionaires and twists at every turn. The whole sports betting empire thing reads very current and fresh—makes you wonder what really happens in the real world as well. It builds and builds and really, I had no idea how it would all end up. If you like high-risk thrillers and a rough-around-the-edges protagonist, you're gonna love this one.

Amazing story!
Let me just say that I throughly enjoyed this book! The characters and character development was spot on and every time someone new was introduced I was left with giddy anticipation as to how they would fit into the storyline! As with any novel the first few chapters are devoted to setting up the story and the ensemble of characters that will keep you eagerly awaiting the next twist and unexpected cliffhanger. I love how the author mixed a diverse cast of both civilian and military performers which allows everyone to have someone in the story they can relate to. As a fan but never member of our beloved military, especially the Navy, I appreciate the efforts Michael Wegman took to give insight to the common, everyday language and actions our naval personal use on a daily basis. This not only gave me the sense of realism of what was going on onboard the ship, but it didn’t leave me feeling lost and confused. This is not a task easily pulled off but Wegman did it flawlessly.
Technical and detail stuff out of the way, you have no clue how much I would love to have an intense discussion about this story! A brilliant villain, his reason for his actions, and a long list of willing and unwilling participants really make this story jump off the pages and keep you excited for the next chapter. I won’t say more, but the build up to the stories climax is phenomenal, and the action in the final minutes pulled me in and put me right there in the middle of it all. So good…..SOOOOOO GOOD! The story was tied together in the end in a beautiful and sometimes unexpected manner that left my guessing, hoping, and completely surprised all at once. Fantastic book. Highly recommended!!

Excellent “attention to detail” and Knowledge shared
Caveat Games was an excellent and easy read! The characters/players were introduced very well and easily followed throughout the storyline. As I approached the middle to end of Caveat Games, I found it hard to put down simply because of the drama that kept unfolding.
Wegman’s great knowledge of his US Navy career made all the normal Navy jargon easy to understand, and pulled you in as part of the crew.
All in all a great read/listen! Wegman is a strong writer and partnered with Visser as the narrator made this a much more impactful experience for me.

Such an interesting plot!
This book really has it all. Lies, corporate greed, self sacrifice, and deception all tied into one. It really takes you for a ride making you not even suspecting what’s going on. The character development is really stellar as well.

Good choice!
An entertaining ride from start to finish. The plot is fast-paced, keeping me hooked with its mix of military suspense, espionage, and action. Jill Sinclair is a solid protagonist, and the twists kept things interesting. The narration was engaging, though I caught one small grammatical slip. Nothing major, just a minor hiccup in an otherwise smooth listen. Overall, it’s a great choice for fans of military thrillers who enjoy a mix of high-stakes action and conspiracy. Definitely worth a listen!

Trust but verify
‘Caveat Games’ by Michael Wegman is an exhilarating suspense thriller that immediately captivates listeners. The story follows U.S. Navy Lieutenant Jill Sinclair and her husband, Ross Sinclair, a successful professional broker. While his wife is on assignment aboard the USS Admiral De Grasse, Ross lands a new lucrative client in Virginia. During her deployment, Jill becomes compelled to locate a sunken jet linked to a global sports betting empire. What starts as an underwater mission quickly escalates into a gripping narrative filled with high-stakes government corruption, thrilling conspiracy, and a looming terrorist plot. Mr. Wegman's extensive military background lends authenticity to the story, particularly evident in the vivid portrayals of naval operations and underwater exploration.
The character development is strong, although a few more introspective moments could have enhanced the motivations of some antagonists. Jill is the leading kick-butt and resilient protagonist. Lieutenant Sinclair emerges as a compelling and resilient protagonist. She navigates through a web of deception and danger. Ross is devoted and supportive of Jill as he builds their future nest egg. He and a few close friends keep busy as musicians in their off hours. The insidious villain David Choi adds depth to the tension as he intersects Jill and Ross's lives with a hidden agenda. The book is well-researched, intertwining themes of loyalty, greed, and power without overwhelming the reader with excessive detail. While it begins at a relatively even pace, it swiftly builds to an engaging climax. The narration by Brandon Vissar is smooth, with poignant intonations and subtle voice shifts between characters that are perfectly maintained from beginning to end.
Overall, 'Caveat Games' is a fantastic debut novel that combines military precision with a thrilling plot, making it a must-listen or must-read for fans of high-octane action and intrigue. It is an entertaining action and adventure ride. Fans will cross their fingers for more stories about Jill Sinclair's journey with her loyal husband Ross! Well done, Michael Wegman.
