Chace Ogden and the Quest for Raven

Picking up right where book 1 left off, this book continues the story. Chace needs to get back to the Magical Realm to save Raven.

This story is great for all ages. Trevor Darby has given us action, adventure, and a great magical quest. It’s straight forward enough for youngsters and still entertaining for adults.

Michael Wetherbee’s performance kept me engaged. Well done.

I was given this free review copy audiobook at my request and I have voluntarily left this review.

The Magical Realm

The second book in the series picks up where the first book ended. Chase has returned from the Magical Realm, but Raven is left behind. This tale is about how he rescues her. Great story filled with twists and turns and magical creatures. I recommend this story for all readers who like this genre, even though it is geared towards younger readers. Michael Wetherbee's narration in fine. I was given a free copy of the audiobook and I have voluntarily left this review.

Very good sequel in the Chace Ogden series

The second Chace Ogden story proves Chace’s character as he seeks to rescue Raven from the Magical Realm. Additionally, it includes the formation of the Myth Squad, not to mention background on each of the members and a few revelations that were unexpected. Once again there was plenty of action and some unexpected intrigue which may set the stage for future stories. Michael Weatherbee’s narration brought each character to life and provided an additional dimension to the story that made it very entertaining to listen to.

Another well-written story from a very good author

Chace Ogden and the Quest for Raven (MYTH Squad Book 2), my third read/listen from author Trevor Darby. 3-hour 50-minute/158-pages, but reads longer with the detail & development of the story. Picking up seamlessly from the first book, the story-line quickly gets better & better drawing the reader deeper & deeper. Narrator Michael Wetherbee’s narration adds greatly to the book’s enjoyment. I have to admit to speeding up the playback the story was so enthralling. I was given an Audible copy of this book & am voluntarily reviewing it. I’ll be reading more from this author and in this series, in fact next up is Chace Ogden and the Cobalt Dragon MYTH Squad, Book 3. (RIP Marley January 20, 2014 - July 24, 2018).

Great series that gets better with the 2nd book!

I definitely enjoyed this adventure even more than the first. I really enjoy Trevor Darby's characters and adventures and this is no exception. Chace is finding out more of what he is made of, but I liked that this story went back and forth between his perspective and Raven's perspective. The first book ended on a cliffhanger, and this book begins right where the other left off. The action comes quickly even as Chace finds himself in the hospital and Raven stranded. His grandfather helps spring him and then it's off to rescue Raven. But she's not idle and I love that she just doesn't wait to be rescued. Meanwhile, Chace is assembling his crew (I love Map and Taz) but finds himself making a shady deal with a wizard. Will they save Raven on time? Will they get back in time to save Chace? What's going to happen with the rest of their families? This is a great adventure for middle school kids and it's the type of book that I would find at the Scholastic Bookfair and that I would recommend to the students. I hope these books somehow make their way to something like that. They are definitely worth reading! This book was narrated by Michael Wetherbee and I definitely liked him better than the narrator for the Finneas Grey series. I would definitely recommend the audiobook.

2nd book I have had the pleasure of listening to.

Chance is a budding magician and gets into all kinds of trouble in the magic realm. Sidekicks and goblins. Great read can't wait for the next book.
