Publisher's summary

Freelance journalist Jessica Hart is excited to co-write her first magazine cover story with celebrity lifestyle maven Donna Vance, the Queen of Texas Chic. Their assignment is to cover the Valentine’s Day wedding of former Miss Texas, Chace Perez. Never mind that the groom just happens to be Jess’ ex-husband.

Things are going well until the night of the bachelorette party. Jess discovers a body, the body of Donna Vance, dead from arsenic poisoning. There’s a killer on the loose. Now it’s up to Jess to keep the wedding on track and sift through the myriad of secrets and lies surrounding the victim.

No one is safe, not Donna’s entourage, not the annoying bridesmaids, not even the bride. Jess teams up with sexy detective Chris Connor. Can they solve the case before the killer poisons again?

Wedding Mystery

Jessica Hart has been promised the career-making opportunity of co-writing her first magazine cover story with the infamous Donna Vance, celebrity author. The thing is Ms. Vance has lots of enemies as her cover stories focus on the “what not to do” aspect of every story she writes more times than not humiliates those people involved unmercifully. Jessica’s more than a tad bit worried about this wedding story.

Jessica’s selection to co-write the story is because she knows the groom so well – her ex-husband! It’s not long before a dead body shows up and disaster after disaster happens – including using her aunts’ home for the wedding nuptials! The fun just continues with each word that is spoken!!!!

The author, Cherry Northcutt delivers yet another wonderful cozy mystery that is fun and thrilling at the same time. Her characters are continually developing their relationships and personalities, new characters are folded in smoothly and completely. Northcutt delivers a well-planned mystery that has a couple of twists endearing the heroine of her story to the listener even more.

The narrator, Amy Verdon delivers an excellent performance giving each character a unique voice and personality. Her performance is smooth and consistent. She projects the proper amount of inflection with each character and scene.
I thoroughly enjoy Northcutt’s series, A Grace Texas Murder Mystery. I cannot wait for the next one out!

There were no issues with the quality or production of this audiobook, it was clear and well produced.
