About this listen
Cheech and Daisy are small, spoiled and cute. Unfortunately, spoiled and cute are overrated when a pack of flesh-eating creepers are closing in fast and chasing you through the streets. Being small? Well, that might help.
A pair of seasoned Army Rangers, a teenaged Latina, a deranged serial killer, and two lost Chihuahuas come together to match wits and battle a city full of the undead.
Oh, and be forewarned: This ain’t no cutesy Beverly Hills Chihuahua-type story. It’s a straight forward, blood and guts, in-your-face post-apocalyptic zombie tale.
" * * * * * * * *
Fans of Steven L. Hawk's Peace Warrior Trilogy will recognize the military action and fast-paced style that made those books so well-received. In this book, a pair of highly trained Army Rangers are joined by a new type of hero: four-pound Chihuahuas.

Story
Ryland Grace is the sole survivor on a desperate, last-chance mission - and if he fails, humanity and the Earth itself will perish. Except that right now, he doesn't know that. He can't even remember his own name, let alone the nature of his assignment or how to complete it. All he knows is that he's been asleep for a very, very long time. And he's just been awakened to find himself millions of miles from home, with nothing but two corpses for company.

Jazz Bashara is a criminal. Well, sort of. Life on Artemis, the first and only city on the moon, is tough if you're not a rich tourist or an eccentric billionaire. So smuggling in the occasional harmless bit of contraband barely counts, right? Not when you've got debts to pay and your job as a porter barely covers the rent. Everything changes when Jazz sees the chance to commit the perfect crime, with a reward too lucrative to turn down.

Loved learning about the apocalypse through the dog’s eyes
This was a surprisingly good book. Fun, heartfelt and adventurous. It made me root for the small docs and the small dogs mini owners / guardians.
It reminded me a bit of the book black beauty. Try this book it’s worth your time

Good story about the zombie apocalypse
I enjoyed the story, but the aspect with the dogs gave it a little bit of a twist versus other zombie apocalypse books Ive listened to. I prefer a human reading the story. This was the first book. I’ve listened to with an AI narrator, and there were times you could definitely tell it was a robot and not an actual human reading based on the cadence of their sentences or the way, they said certain words thathave two ways to pronounce them depending on the usage in the sentence. However, the overall story I very much enjoyed.

Like a live voice better
Loved the story. Didn’t care for the virtual voice. It lacks the “human” expressions greatly. I will stay away from the audiobooks that have this. Other than that, great story.

Best Zombie Apocalypse POV Ever
Having portions of the narrative be from the POV of a pair of tiny dogs is brilliant. Add to it some very likeable characters and a fairly realistic plot line and you have a fun, scary, zombie tale that outshines so many others in this sub-genre. I was born and raised in Boise and my sister still lives there in a walled community just like the ones discussed in the story. She even has a little bitty dog who is definitely the embodiment of Cheech. I recognized many of the locations mentioned and that added a lot of vividness to the mental movie playing in my head as I listened. Do be warned that this book is narrated by Virtual Voice which is a computer generated voice. It's not too bad most of the time, but there are instances of mispronunciations and inappropriate tonal inflections which can yank you out of the story and remind you that you're listening to an audiobook.

Great book!
I wasn’t sure what to think at first but I was drawn in on chapter 1. I loved the idea of the dogs point of view and them being as much a character as the people. Fun and yet creepy. Thanks!

Well written and imaginative
I’ll be honest, what first drew me to this book was the fact that I grew up in Boise, Idaho, where the story takes place. I did get a serious kick out of hearing names of streets that I traveled on often and places I knew. however, I couldn’t stop listening because quite simply it is a good book. Posted it on my Facebook and already have a family member downloading it so hopefully more people do too.
