There are a lot of books out there that tell you to rewrite the stories we tell ourselves. This one stands out because the author is an expert in this field. She has degrees in the subject. She has done studies. She works with clients from individuals to high level businesses. She has developed thought out and tested methods for rewriting out stories. It’s also easy to listen to. The treatment of the topics does not feel dry or tedious. She is good at… storytelling! Her voice is upbeat and even when dealing with deep subjects she conveys compassion and positivity. Highly recommend.

I bought this book solely based on the fact that I loved Kindra's previous book on storytelling (Stories That Stick). While I expected more of Kindra's passionate and insightful teaching through storytelling, I don't think I was prepared to find a toolkit for challenging my beliefs. Kindra, how did you know I was searching for that??

Kindra not only tackles some of our life's most challenging stories, but she (once again) provides a structured way for us to be insightful about these topics and supports them with engaging, real-life, relatable examples (stories!). Inner critic? Me? How did you know I'm an Enneagram Type-One?

After only one time through I already expect this book to become a part of my rotation and one I come back to again and again as I continue to delve into, and re-write, my own stories.

To those who are critical about the length of the book and the necessity of such detailed stories, I propose that it's exactly this level of detail told through relatable stories that make the teachings more memorable. I believe my ability to recall the important aspects she teaches about storytelling directly results from Kindra's ability to teach through engaging storytelling. Highly recommended! Thank you again Kindra!!

Love this book! It’s a must read. We never think about the stories we tell ourselves and how they work against what we say we want. Thank you Kindra…for reminding us to look at and analyze the stories we tell ourselves and for teaching us how to introduce new stories when our old stories are triggered!

I started this book thinking I wouldn’t learn anything from it that I didn’t already know, but as always, Kindra opened my eyes. The stories that I thought were ‘just who I am and I can’t change them’ suddenly became clear and my perspective immediately shifted. I now catch more of my icebergs than ever before. For that, I am forever grateful.

One of my favorite books is Kindra Halls's book Stories that Stick. When I saw this one on pre-order, I didn't hesitate to order it. I didn't even read what it was about because I can't get enough of her work. I am also an author and released my first book in October. Stories that Stick was a transforming read during my writing and the valuable lessons will be applied to my next writings.

I was on my way to a conference and it popped onto my list. I read the whole thing on the trip. WOW! I was not expecting a book that would help rewrite ME. It resonated deeply with some of my struggles with confidence and I will be rereading it more slowly while I implement her suggestions. Where one book helped write my book about the space industry, this one will help write my story about me.

I highly recommend any of her books including this one. Thanks, Kindra!

Enjoyed this book and found it helpful when thinking about ways to chase away negative thoughts/doubts. Cute personal stories made it easy to listen to. A bit repetitive, but worth listening
