Publisher's summary

He's a billionaire bear shifter and a white man; she's a black woman, and together they "bearly" save Christmas.

Krista's grieving over the loss of her adoptive parents, bear shifters who had loved her as though she was their own cub, despite the fact that her skin was another color and she didn't have a bear form. She wants nothing more than to mourn quietly and celebrate Christmas with her adoptive brother while they decide what to do with the ranch they inherited. What she doesn't expect is the extreme attraction she feels for her adoptive brother when she lays eyes on him for the first time in years.

Bear shifter Leo has mixed feelings about leaving his billion-dollar business in California to return to his family ranch in Texas. But when he sees Krista, he knows he was right to never have thought of her as a real sister - because his feelings for her are anything but brotherly. Unfortunately, some people in town have different ideas about their relationship, and when those people lash out, Leo and Krista must work together to save their ranch...and each other.

A HEA despite racism.

A demonstration of how, regardless of how far we've come, racism is still very much alive. I hate that Krista and Leo felt they needed to completely uproot themselves, selling the family ranch, to escape the prejudice they were so openly subjected to in the town they grew up in. Despite all of the aggressively racist men ending up in jail, there was always going to be an underlying stigma in the town. It's truly sad the situation Krista and Leo were put into, but I was very happy to see them have their own HEA.

Audrey Lusk did a fine job narrating the book. She was able to create distinct voices for many of the characters, which is much appreciated.

Short bwwm of STEP siblings..ouch!

Love shifter stories. Love bwwm love stories. A white shifter family adopt their maids little daughter after she dies.... The family's oldest son comes back home went the parents die. Lust and attraction happens mixing with small town racial prejudices.. I give this story 3 stars for bwwm but the adopted siblings thing left a bad taste in my mouth and time frame they jumped into bed. The conflict of the surrounding town and racial tension was interesting. Worth a credit... This story is short so... flip a coin.
