Knightly

If practice makes perfect, I should excel at pretending that Heath Miller doesn’t affect me. That I’m immune to that wide jaw, taut body, and the unique woodsy-aftershave-engine-oil scent that makes my ovaries explode.

Since before I could walk, he’s been my champion. My best friend. The one problem I can’t solve. Why? If I tell him I love him, I’ll lose him and his adorable daughter. Maybe the best Christmas gift I can give him—and myself—is to turn in the keys to my B&B and put some distance between us.

Heath

I’ve made my share of mistakes. Lost my MIT scholarship, came home to fix cars and romance Kentbury’s female tourists—until I wound up a single father. For all eight years of Cassie’s life, Knightly’s been my anchor.

I’ve changed. Cassie’s the best part of me, and Knightly’s been there every step of the way. But as Christmas lays its mantle of magic over Kentbury, she drops a bomb—she’s following a dream to New York City. I’ve got one week to do everything, say everything I’ve never dared. To convince my best friend to be mine—ours—for all the holidays to come.

Light-hearted Love Story!!

Christmas in Kentbury is a short novella and the first book in the Kentbury Tales series. This was a friends to lovers story that was light-hearted but a little fast-paced.

Landon Miller and Knightly “Lee” have been best friends since they were kids. They have also had feelings for each other over the years but to afraid to act on them. Lee has always been there for Landon, helping him raise Cassie, his daughter, but she is wanting more in life. The whole town knows how these two feel about each other, if they would only get out of their heads and act on those feelings.

Lee finally had enough and decides to move on with her life. Will this finally make Landon act on his feelings and claim his girl? I really loved reading & listening to the audio. This story made me laugh and made me swoon. The narrators Teddy Hamilton and Muffy Newtown did an amazing job!!

Best friends to more. Enjoyed it.

(2023) This was a cute story, and narration was well done. Lee and Bishop moved from friends to more. Fun journey.

Loved Landon and Knightly!

Christmas in Kentbury was a sweet and swoony friends-to-lovers/ single dad novella that will leave your heart simply satisfied. Landon and Knightly's journey to HEA is full of longing, pining, and finally giving into what their hearts truly desire. I loved this small town of Kentbury and am looking forward to more of these characters' stories.

Muffy Newtown and Teddy Hamilton narrated this audiobook, and these two were pure audio magic together. Muffy portrayed Knightly's passionate and determined persona perfectly giving her so much fervor and strength in her performance. Plus, Teddy turned on the charm with his portrayal of swoony and devoted, Landon. This slow burn simmering chemistry exploded through your earbuds once these two gave into temptation and finally went for what they wanted...each other.

Overall, I LOVED this novella. If you are a fan of a small town friends to lovers romance with a hot hunky single dad, a fiercely loyal B&B owner with goals, a sweet adorable little girl, a getaway to NYC, getting the ultimate Christmas gift, and a HEA that proves friends make the best lovers, then you will love Landon and Knightly's story. I always look forward to more from Claudia Burgoa.

Great holiday Novella

I initially read this book in 2018 when it was first released and enjoyed it. With this release, there have been some changes, mostly with people's names and editing, so I also enjoyed it.

I LOVE the single dad trope and the friends to lovers trope, and Claudia did a great job with not only the combination of those two tropes, but it was also a surprise you're a daddy and siblings best friend tropes as well. Four tropes and a Holiday Romance are all in one well-written novella, with you rooting for the couple and the cutest little girl right from the start.

Knightly (Lee) and Landon are friends and have been for a long time; Landon is best friends with Lee's brother as well, but what Landon doesn't know during their long friendship is that she has been not only harboring a crush on him she's been in love with him and loves his daughter as well. Now, the time has come for Lee to cut her losses and move on with her life, which means moving out of their small town to get some distance between them and hopefully find someone who makes her feel like Landon does. The news of Lee possibly moving hits Landon hard, and it's time for him to reevaluate things.

I listened to the audiobook and the narration by Teddy Hamilton and Muffy Newtown was well done. I really enjoyed the way they brought the story to life.

If you enjoy Contemporary Romances with some Steam, Single Dad Romances, Friends to Lovers Romances, Holiday Romances, or Small Town Romances, I recommend this book to you.

Happy Reading!!!

Entertaining and heart warming

5 Star Review Christmas In Kentbury (Kentbury Tales #1) by Claudia Burgoa

Having read numerous books by Claudia Burgoa I was excited to read Christmas In Kentbury which is single dad Landon Miller and Knightly (Lee) story. I love stories set around the holidays, it such a magical time of the year with family and friends coming together to celebrate.

What Heath doesn’t realise is that Knightly has been in love with him for years and adores his daughter Cassie. Now she has decided to head to New York and Heath realises he will need to do anything in his power to stop her, even if it means he finally admits his true feelings.

I loved this friends to lovers story and I quickly became invested in the story that Ms. Burgoa wove. The narration by Teddy Hamilton and Muffy Newton was spot on. They brought both the characters and story to life for me.

Magical story with wonderful narration

It’s the most wonderful time of the year and If you are looking for a magical read that will really put you in the mood for the upcoming holiday season look no further than Christmas in Kentbury. This is single dad Landon Miller and his 8 year old daughter Cassie and his best friend Knightley aka Lee’s journey. Teddy Hamilton and Muffy Newtown did a wonderful job bringing the characters and their magical tale to life. They were spot on with the emotions and the love and I found myself escaping to Kentbury. Lee has been there for all of Cassie’s life but she feels it’s now time to make a life for herself. So she decides to give up her B&B, walk away from the man who holds her heart and move across the pond to New York City. It seems that both Landon and Lee have been hiding their feelings so will he wake up in time and take a leap of faith, will he convince her to stay……one click now to find out. Once again Claudia Burgoa has given us another small town to fall in love with and I loved everything about Kentbury. I fell hard and fast for Landon, I wanted Lee as my new bestie and I adored Cassie but what made this a very special, magical read was the friendships and the writing. Christmas is all about family and friendships and that’s exactly what we got in this magical read.

Great Story & Listen🎧 Heartwarming & Delightful!

This wonderful friends-to-lovers romance was amazing. The story immediately drew me in and kept me engaged the whole time. It is a beautifully written story and despite being a novella sized book, it packs a full story, a story that will warm your heart. Landon Miller and Knightly ‘Lee’ have been best of friends and there is nothing Landon would do to jeopardize their friendship, including acting on his true feelings for her. She was his rock when his daughter, Cassie, came into his life, and he became a single dad. Lee always wanted to have more with Landon and was jealous that she was not the mother of his child, despite that someone never being part of their lives. She loves her life in Kentbury, running the B&B and having her family close by. But she knows she will only be friends with Landon, nothing more. So she distances herself from him by leaving Kentbury to pursue other things she wants, her own baby. Landon had his reasons for not pursuing Lee and they went beyond jeopardizing their friendship. He also struggled with self worth, thinking he was not enough for her. However, her family helps him recognize his true value. I loved how everything played out in this book, the story has the perfect balance of drama, charm, heartfelt emotions and a slow burn but so worth the wait romance. Claudia Burgoa, thank you for another fabulous story and emotional rollercoaster ride.

🎧📚🎧And for the fabulous narration, Claudia Burgoa always casts the perfect narrators to bring her characters and stories to life. Teddy Hamilton and Muffy Newtown were amazing in their portrayal of the characters, sounding exactly how I imagined them. They set the perfect tone for the story, captured all the characters’ emotions and had you feeling them all. These entertaining storytellers are versatile voice artists and a pleasure to listen to. Thank you for another exceptional listen.

Christmas love story

What a great novella of finally getting the love you have wanted for years. Landon and Lee have been friends for years and she is important to not only him but also to his daughter Cassie. When he sees he is about to lose her, he finally admits how he feels and intends to win her love. Lee loves Landon and Cassie but she needs more than friendship. She is finally willing to move away to heal her heart until Landon finally shows her how important she is to him.

Teddy Hamilton, and Muffy Newtown are amazing. Fantastic listen and I loved it.

Great Christmas Novella

This was a quick but really good audiobook. I thought Teddy Hamilton and Muffy Newtown did a great job narrating this short story.

Landon used to be the town playboy but then his playboy ways caught up to him and now he's a single father. Knightly (Lee) has been in love with Landon since she was a little girl. But he never saw her as anything other than his best friend's little sister. She became a great friend to him and she was always there for his little girl.

But now Lee is ready to finally break free from this crush and is thinking a change of scenery is what is going to help with this. With the thought that Lee might not be around anymore, Landon realized what he could have had all along. So he works to prove to her that he loves her like she loves him. It's not easy at first because she just doesn't believe him...she thinks he is doing this because his daughter doesn't want her to go.

I wish Landon had realized earlier in the story about his feelings for Lee so that we had more story time of him proving his feelings and love for her. Otherwise, this was a cute novella with a wonderful family.
