About this listen
The founding text of today's billion-dollar coaching industry, featuring the seminal GROW model, Coaching for Performance remains the world's best-selling coaching book. This major new edition is designed to stay ahead of the profession, with practical visuals and new material developed by the leading international performance consultants.
Coaching for Performance is the institution of the coaching profession. This landmark text has now undergone the largest revision yet in its history to bring it fully up to date for today's professionals. With a focus on coaching as a way of being rather than a temporary process, this new edition explains how coaching can have a profound effect on the culture of an organisation. No longer an activity conducted in isolation by a select few managers, coaching impacts the growth of the whole company as well as the personal growth of the individual. This new edition includes a Foreword by John McFarlane, Chairman of Barclays and TheCityUK. New chapters on culture change demonstrate how to build a high performance culture in any type of organisation and measure the results. Terminology has been revised throughout to align with that used by the International Coach Federation and a new full glossary of terms serves to make this the definitive book on the topic.
The influential GROW model (Goals, Reality, Options, Will) featured in the book is supported by new international studies and examples which are included throughout, ensuring that this edition will stay at the forefront of professional coaching and leadership development.

Mind opening, habit-inertia challanging
As most public materials on this field, the content is highly diluted in anectodes and filler words and expressions. They might however, help, as they keep your mind hovering on the matter while going through the "exemple story" . The first half is highly mind opening and mind-habit challanging. Really good to change your mind from the passive "do it like this or you are wrong" approach to learning to the "what is valuable to you? what meaning and importance does it have to you personally" . A way to get involved and feel in control of your own training in the first place. To actually own and be in control in your education and way of thought research, no matter the field. A very handy tool to have for your own life.

A must-read for any coach
This is arguably the first book you should read when learning to become a coach. While it is very common-sensical, it is also a highly valuable tool for coaching. All in all, a very pleasant and rewarding read.

Basic ideas of coaching leadership
The book is well suited for a leader looking to use a coaching approach in her professional environment. However, for a professional coach this book is quite limited.
The book provides an extensive and excellent overview of GROW coach technique, but unfortunately it stays there, only briefly mentioning other topics. While the GROW framework is usable in coaching, the real power of coaching is far more extensive, and I felt the book misses it, focusing only on one framework.
