About this listen

I was supposed to be starting a new life.

But fate had something else in mind.

I was in my senior year of college and had just started a new job at Morgan Financial Holdings, and I was bound and determined to get my foot in the door of the business world. I refused to ask my Uncle Hollis for more help. He had given up his life to take care of me, no way was I going to ask him for anything else.

However, my new professor, Declan Berkshire, just happened to be a huge cocky jerk. As the heir to a real estate franchise, he was both rich and a celebrity - and truth be told, the hottest guy I had ever met.

He also happened to be a client at Morgan Financial Holdings. Just my luck, right?

While I tried to keep a safe distance from Declan, he was finding every way possible to get my attention.

We both knew it was wrong to fall into a relationship. He is my professor and I had way too much to lose if anyone were to find out, but we just couldn’t help ourselves.

Then we became front-page news.

Fearing I may have to drop my last class before earning my degree, I tried to end my relationship with Declan. Refusing to give me up, Declan fought for us when I didn’t think it was possible.

With so much on the line, Declan made one of the most difficult decisions possible and one that led us to our own magical romance. But it hasn’t been easy and someone is out to stop us from getting our happily ever after.

Quick read that will keep you hooked

Another great addition to the Cocky Hero Club. This story has a character I loved in the original Cocky Hero books as a main character. Hailey is the niece of Hollis who we met in Park Avenue Player. She is an adult now in college and also the new assistant for Morgan Financial Holdings. She meets one of the most arrogant men ever, Declan. She can't stand him. He is intrigued by her because she isn't falling at his feet over his looks or money. He has his sights set on her. One steamy encounter and she figures she won't see him again. That is until he turns out to be her professor! Their one night turns into more and suddenly they are in a forbidden relationship. When both their futures are in jeopardy they have to realize if it's all worth it. In the midst of the drama they didn't expect true feelings to be seen. This is an addicting quick read. It was unique. It had so many aspects to it. I couldn't wait to find out what happened next. Hailey is one of my favorite characters from the original Cocky Hero books, so I was excited to see her get her own book. And these narrators knocked it out of the park as Hailey & Declan. Desiree Ketchum has the voice that I picture for Hailey. And Aiden Snow's voice was perfect to keep me swooning over Declan. And must read/listen for romance fans. As always, MA Lee doesn't disappoint.

Ahhh Hailey

I loved most of this little story letting us see Hailey grown up almost finished with college…and how Hollis and Elode (sp?) are a part of it. I do wish it was longer with more details, and more in depth of it all. For a simple little listen loved the narrators …. If you havent listened to Park Avenue Player do so…

Great potential

This book has some great potential but being as short as it is there is a lot of the character development and storyline that gets way too rushed. The last almost hour was honestly just a little ridiculous. Her actions are just juvenile and it felt like it was more thrown in there for angst. This book should have been twice as long and with more development of the relationship it would have been great. The ending wouldn’t have been rushed and it would have played out so much better. The only thing fantastic was the performances. I feel like this book was thrown together for the sake of the story but in the end the story suffered because the time wasn’t spent to really do it justice. Sorry to Vi keeland and Penelope Ward because someone else should have written this story or at the very least committed to it and developed it properly.

Needs a rewrite

This story could be good if it had any sort of details. It literally jumps from the beginning to the end with no details. The main characters lose all of their personality traits in the last hour of the book with no explanation at all. I knew the story was short going into it but jeez, this book just skimmed surfaces. Not a fan.

The girl is crazy

What was that conversation that she had with her roommate? And her break up? She’s crazy 😂 sometimes I can’t understand what the authors are thinking
