Publisher's summary

Some say I’m cocky - I say I’m confident.

Things have always come easy for me; sports, academics...girls. And I’ve used all of that to my advantage the past three years of college. I’ve got it all, or at least I thought I did until Laken walks into my life.

I've never desired a relationship like my parents have, but there is some mysterious pull I feel toward this brunette I’ve noticed around campus. And with each interaction we have, I long to know her more. Yet the closer we get, the harder she resists and the higher the walls go up. I sense there’s something more - a secret she’s hiding - one she doesn’t trust to share with me yet. But she will, if I have my way, and I’ll do anything if she’ll take a chance on me. On us.

I grew up hearing the story of how my parents met, their separation, how my dad fought for them, and their happily ever after. I just never expected or wanted to find that for myself. Now that I have, I don’t want to ever let them go.

But when I’m given the opportunity of a lifetime after graduation, will the offer of my heart be enough for her to accept? Or will I lose her forever?

Love these 2nd generation stories

This was such a cool continuation of Chance and Audrey's story, with some very cool guest appearances from Pixie. The narrators were good, but the female Aussie accent was painful. That didn't happen a lot, so it was nothing that kept me from listening all the way to the end.

Amazing book

I loved Laken and Chance. I laughed and at some point had a few tears.

Chance is a definitely the cocky boy that always gets what he wants. Laken is the girl that had to grow up at a young age because of choices she made.

This book had a little about everything and Evan Grace writes beautiful stories that will have you hooked until the end.

An enjoyable listen!

Absolutely one of the better ones in the Hero Club franchise, where in my opinion the quality of the books varies a lot. A nice touch to tell Chance Jr.’s story. The narration was good, but a bit strange to listen to Kai Kennicott without Wen Ross lol.

Loved it!

I read and listened to this story. Little CJ is all grown up and in college! And what do you know??? He's like his dad Chance Bateman Sr. CJ doesn't do relationships, but he surely did work hard to get a date with Laken. These two gave me all the feels! When CJ found out about who Ava was to Laken, his conflicted feelings were warranted since he was in uncharted territory; and rightly so. I loved how CJ and Laken's relationship progressed and how CJ took to Ava. I also appreciated how involved Chance and Aubrey were with CJ, but at the same time were not overbearing. Laken's relationship with her parents was also something I appreciated. Many books in this genre make the parents the enemy but not so with this one. Supportive parents who want what's best for their children while letting them navigate through life.

Chance Bateman Sr. will forever be my favorite Aussie so seeing him as the father to a grown CJ was amazing! This was one of those stories that stayed with me long after I got to the end. The author did a phenomenal job weaving this book together. I look forward to reading more of her stories. The narrators also did a phenomenal job bringing the story to life. Kai has been a favorite of mine for a while. Lance is a new to me narrator and I look forward to listening to more stories.

Good until the end

Spoiler: I loved this story until the end. Why did the woman had to apologize for the man’s decisions? He even asked her to move out and she went to look for him and asked his forgiveness? Then they were all a happy family. Ugh! Dumb heroine!

CJ all grown up!

This is the story of Aubrey and Chance's son, who is in his story year in college. I love Chance Jr and Laken together, lots of romance and they are so 🔥

I would listen to this audiobook for the narrators alone, but the story is seriously so good!!!

Cocky Striker

I was so excited about reading Chance Jr’s book and This was wonderful. Chance starts off with the history of being a cocky player until he meets Laken (but don’t worry he’s not sleeping with every in this story- once he meets her there is no one else) Laken’s attitude at their meet cute is what draws Chance’s attention and for the first time he has to be the pursuer. Their chemistry sparks and then he finds out about Ava- Laken’s 3 yr old daughter. - so many ways there could have been a ton of drama in this storyline but the author kept it on the low end. Sweet, sexy, fun and easy. I loved how both Chance and Chance Sr were with Ava. Definitely my new favorite in this CHC world.

Love Those Bateman’s!

By far, my favorite story in the Hero Club series to date. I just love the Bateman story line.

Baby C.J. all grown-up

Now this does justice to Vi Keeland and Penelope Ward. Little C.J. is all grown-up and in love. This was an HEA worth waiting for. Evan Grace creates a wonderful continuation of the original story but how long do goats live because Pixie was going strong 20 years after he was introduced. Super Goat. LOL!
