Publisher's summary

The bad news is that approximately 40 million people between the ages of 18 and 54 are currently dealing with some form of anxiety that is more intense than that which is experienced by their peers. The good news is that this issue is manageable without the use of pharmaceuticals and one of the most effective ways of taking control of your mental state is through the use of cognitive behavioral therapy. If you are looking for a way to control your crippling anxiety once and for all, then Cognitive Behavioral Therapy for Anxiety: CBT Therapy for Beginners is the audiobook that you have been waiting for.

Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) is a form of psychotherapy that seeks to analyze why you feel certain ways and how you see certain situations. Because anxiety is a reaction to these things, and because it results in distorted thinking and perceptions of reality, CBT shows patients a healthy, more realistic way to think. You will learn all about CBT and the many ways it can be put into practice to allow you to start taking control of your anxiety like never before.

You will learn how to analyze your thought patterns to determine when anxiety is taking over and causing you to act in a less than ideal fashion as well as real, actionable exercises that you can do whenever you feel an anxiety attack starting to rear its ugly head. What’s more, you will find a wide variety of mental exercises to help you understand what more productive thought processes are really like and how to put them into action in your daily life.

Living with anxiety can be a constant struggle in countless ways that those who haven’t experienced it firsthand can never understand, but it doesn’t have to be this way. So, what are you waiting for? Change your life for the better in ways you have never imagined, buy this audiobook today!

From this audiobook, you will learn:

  • The differences between the brains of those with severe anxiety and those who don’t have to deal with it.
  • Much more!

Very motivational

Concise. No wasted words, straight to the point, full, rich and most of all interesting. Almost anyone will find this book beneficial. It encourages one to seek professional help in certain more serious circumstances. I could describe this as an essential to any self-help program.

"Highly recommend this book to anybody"

Cognitive behavioral therapy is widely used practice for a variety of mental health issues that focuses on understanding and challenging one’s thought processes. Liam Anderson acts as an encouraging guide, cognitive behavioral therapy treatment. Interspersed throughout this easy-to-follow book is empirically supported information about the outcomes and process of Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, relatable anecdotes, workbook-style questionnaires and space for reflection, and Liam’s continual reassurance to the reader that they can accomplish their goals.

A nice survey of problems and treatment options

This book provides a valuable survey-level introduction to CBT-based approaches to working through anxiety and depression. Many find these problems difficult to understand and deal with and may not know where to start. This makes treatment and recovery all the more difficult. That's where this audiobook comes in; at only an hour and a half to listen to, it discusses the nature of anxiety and depression and established CBT treatment protocols, giving enough information for listeners to be informed about their options without going into detail with examples and exercises that a first-time seeker of help may not yet be ready for. This makes it accessible for those just getting started with treatment options.

The reader had the just the sort of voice you'd imagine (or, at least, I would) a therapy-discussing audiobook would have and that worked well for this reading. He was always clear and easy to understand.

I was given this free review copy audiobook at my request and have voluntarily left this review.

Info packed

Useful information and easy to listen to and follow. He does focus almost exclusively on anxiety and not depression.

Attention-grabbing

I tend to put books down that don't grab my interest right away but I refuse to do the same for this one. This book does a great job explaining how CBT principles apply to common problems of life. Definitely a best buy!

Anybody interested in learning about CBT.

As an aspiring clinical psychology graduate student, this book offered great insight to the different facets and approaches involved in the journey of CBT. I would like to thank Seth for an advanced review copy and would highly recommend this book to anybody interested in utilizing or learning more about CBT.

Too generalized to help with CBT.

For an individual with no knowledge of psychotherapy this might be OKAY. But for anyone with any psychological sophistication at all it's over baked and too inclusive for the specific problem I desired to use it for that doesn't require a comprehensive full life review to deal with.
