About this listen

How do we stop the unrelenting evolution of the economic hit man strategy and China’s takeover?

The riveting third edition of this New York Times bestseller blows the whistle on China’s economic hit man (EHM) strategy, exposes corruption on an international scale, and offers much-needed solutions for curing the degenerative Death Economy. In this shocking exposé, former EHM John Perkins gives an insider view into the corrupt system that cheats and strong-arms countries around the globe out of trillions of dollars and ultimately causes staggering income inequality and ecological devastation.

EHMs are highly paid professionals who use development loans to saddle countries with huge debts and force them to serve US interests. Now, a new EHM wave is infecting the world, and at the peak of the devastation sits China, a newly dominant economic power, with its own insidious version of the US EHM blueprint. Twelve explosive new chapters detail the allure, exploitation, and wreckage of China’s EHM strategy in Latin America, Asia, Africa, the Middle East, and Europe.

If allowed to continue its rampage, the EHM strategy—whether executed by the United States or China—will destroy life as we know it. However, all is not lost. Perkins offers a plan for transforming this system that places profits above all into a Life Economy that restores the earth. He inspires listeners to take actions toward a new era of global cooperation that will end the United States’s and China’s EHM strategies for good.

Global Power Unveiled

"Confessions of an Economic Hitman" by John Perkins is a masterclass in dissecting the intricate interplay between global economics, politics, and power dynamics. Perkins meticulously unveils the covert strategies employed by economic operatives to manipulate and exploit developing nations, shedding light on the shadowy mechanisms that perpetuate inequality and serve vested interests.

What distinguishes this book is Perkins' ability to distill complex geopolitical phenomena into accessible narratives without compromising on depth or accuracy. His firsthand accounts offer unparalleled insight into the inner workings of a system designed to consolidate wealth and influence at the expense of entire populations.

While Perkins' narrative is compelling in its own right, it's essential to acknowledge the broader context beyond the pages of the book. Hidden circles of power within the tripartite state exert considerable control over global affairs, shaping policies and outcomes to suit their agendas. Although this aspect may not be explicitly addressed in Perkins' work, it's a critical dimension to consider when comprehensively analyzing global power dynamics.

In essence, "Confessions of an Economic Hitman" is not just a book; it's a paradigm-shifting exploration of the forces that shape our world. Whether you're an academic scholar or an informed citizen, this book offers invaluable insights that challenge conventional wisdom and prompt deeper reflection on the nature of power and influence in our society.

insightful. new confessions is more ehm in poli activism against China.

the new confessions was just a new kind of propaganda to control people. seemed like the author was more disappointed that china's strategy defeated the one he had participated in rather than the people he had ruined.

Self-Righteous Crook Crying “save the children”.

The author is so clearly an amoral white washed egoist. So many claims that can’t be verified, and barley apologetic complicity in numerous crimes. Imagine a guy who blames it’s his privileged background for success but all his actual actions that are in dispute. It calls into question all of his presumptions and positions.

Interesting but author is delusional about solutions

Author is absolutely brainwashed by the climate cult Lots of truth in this book but author has a fundamentally wrong worldview that leads him to push utopian leftist ideas on readers

Readable After Side-Stepping Author's Delusions

This is a good and important story that should be read. But understand the author's point of view on some issues may be skewed. He doesn't seem to be a good person.

Author appears to believe NSA (conservatives) pre-screened him and decided even though he's a Liberal and is against everything they believe in went to great lengths to send his perfect woman his way in order to seduce him (he's married btw) and tempt him to keep this all a secret as he lies and/or threatens to other nations into taking a loan from the World Bank that they can't pay back so America (because America is the world bank lol) can force them to be a democratic nation who does whatever they say (so not really democratic). If he betrays them, he will be murdered. Then he quit because he was traumatized by how evil he was so he decided to accept at least 3x the money to defend companies in court who benefited from his lies and lies to the courts instead. This is all causing Global Warming, Climate Change and the Chinese are doing a little bit better job than us but just a little. This is classic Liberal causing problems and placing all the blame on someone other than himself. And in writing this book and quitting his unquittable job, he's still living.

1. He is very far to the left.
a. Avoided the War's draft by joining the Peace Core. (he opposed the war)
b. Climate Change and Global Warming is a fact.
c. Capitalism is evil.
2. NSA knows him like the palm of it's hand.
a. He interviewed with NSA before he was offered a job at Main (evil job not connected to the government).
3. A sexy woman seduced him and he cheated on his wife.
a. Successful because of through NSA per-screening.
b. Taught him to give to...
c. Give Loans to countries from the World Bank.
d. Lie about Economic forecasts and ensure the country can't pay the loan back.
e. Threaten them if they are not compliant.
f. If he ever tells anyone about her or what he's doing... DEATH!!!
4. America would have control of the country once they couldn't pay back the World Bank...
a. Nothing going on with the World Bank... No Big Conspiracies... I promise!
b. Change your government to Democracy.
c. Do what America says because your in debt to the World Bank?
d. Claims many assassinations are done by America because Claudine (sexy woman) said so.
5. The Right is Evil. (Doesn't say it outright but implies it)
a. Most of the people (not in on it) are conservatives.
b. Dirty capitalists forced him to do this.
c. The NSA is very conservative and chose someone who is openly on the Left (whom they hate)
d. Forced to make huge sums of money, lie, threaten and deceive other countries and cheat on his wife because... CAPITALISTS!!!
e. Capitalists are causing GLOBAL WARMING and CLIMATE CHANGE. (they are facts not to be debated)

Relatively even-handed historical perspective

Good read. The vocal performance was excellent. The book gives a relatively even-handed historical perspective but, as is often the case, fails to grasp the depravity of man and the cultural/societal results that consistently defy the best intentions. Regardless of the political system, the strong seem to always subjugate the weak. Christianity remains the only hope for changing the hearts of men.

Fascinating and illuminating!

Anyone who wants to understand how the world really works at a high level, this is the book! After I finished it, I see the world differently, and I really give John Perkins credit for coming out with this. I had read some things which gave clues to this type of economic exploitation going on, but this book fills in all the blanks left out by our media and certainly left out by our government. It’s also so well written, a real page turner. A must-read for anyone who cares about the world and our place in it.

Must for all that value life

I’ve heard interviews with this guy before and I’ve kind of been avoiding the book because it’s tough subject. But it’s amazing. It lays things out so clearly what the real economic power system is designed for, how it works, why it works this way and what options we have to get out ofthe system we’re stuck in.
