Publisher's summary

The aliens are here ... and they want municipal services!

Ashley Perrin is fresh out of college and starting a job as a community liaison for the Third District–the city’s only sector with more alien residents than humans. Ashley’s barely found where the paper clips are kept when she’s beset with constituent complaints–from too much noise at the Annual Lupidian Celebration Parade to a trip-and-fall chicken to a very particular type of alien hornet that threatens the very city itself.

And if that’s not terrifying enough, Ashley is next up at the office karaoke night.

It's Parks and Recreation meets the Federation of Planets in this fast and funny audio exclusive by Hugo Award winner and Audible best seller John Scalzi.

humorous story, awesome narator.

Scalzi does it again with an excellent story. It us a bit typical of the human starting a job in a place with non humans, but still fun. it is satisfying how things pull together. Amber Benson does excellent well voiced naration. there are no issues telling who is who.

Great story for driving to work

Another great Scalzi short. I rarely get any of his books that I do t love. (Well, just the one really.). The story of a woman just trying to do her best at her job rings a bit true - even if there’s no alien toy shops in my district.

Quick, fun, listen

Just a day in the life of District 3s newest community constituent liaison. What could go wrong? Fun, short story with a happy ending and plenty of John Scalzi’s imagination and hi-jinx. Love his perspective and unique characters.

Amber Benson is quite talented. Loved all the voices. This was typical Scalzi and I'll listen to it many times.

Fun and short

Typical Scalzi - light, fun, interwoven parts that initially seem unrelated but end up coming together in a clever way.

Fun story about future earth, very Men in Black

it's great that another John Scalzi piece has been narrated by Amber Benson. I've been waiting forever for another book with Chris and Van, but I'll happily take this. This book is about the most exciting thing in the galaxy: government bureaucracy. That may not sound very exciting, but trust me it is. I hope this short novela leads to a full series, all narrated by Amber, to me the narrator is as important a player in these stories as the authors and I'll buy anything when new material from my favorite duos comes out.
