About this listen
Have you ever felt stuck as a leader? What if the one thing holding you back was the very thing holding your team back? Have you ever been overwhelmed by the many philosophies of great leadership?
Many strive for a management role, but very few actually get good at it once they’re in the position. Most tend to overinvest in sales and recruiting while underinvesting in developing quality leaders. They fail to understand that the deficiencies of the leader are acting as a kink in the hose on the results of the team. You don’t have a sales problem; you have a leadership problem! The tools in this book help listeners identify their deficiencies in a positive, constructive way so they can overcome them to unlock their full leadership potential.
Alec Nethercott has been a student and practitioner of leadership for two decades. Over the course of building a company with 400+ employees, he learned valuable (albeit painful) lessons along the way. Written from his experiences and research, Core-4 Leadership: The Master Formula for Sales Managers and Potential Leaders contains a proven methodology for developing the best leadership possible for maximum results. Some of the principles recounted came as breakthroughs at a time Nethercott needed them most.
He is passionate about the lessons in his book, and he is beyond excited to share them with others. Listeners, you are in for inspiring stories, aha moments and relevant content that will help get you unstuck and feeling confident in your career.

Must read if in sales leadership!
There are countless excellent sales books tailored for individual salespeople, but far fewer are written for those in sales leadership roles. And among the few that exist, many are either overly theoretical or so tactical that their applicability is limited to certain industries. Alec Nethercott has struck an impressive balance with Core 4 Leadership. This book combines solid theory with practical, industry-agnostic insights that any sales leader can apply. His voice is great too so it’s easy to listen ;)
This book is an essential resource for anyone transitioning from individual sales success into a sales leadership role. The leap from being a high-performing salesperson to leading and developing a sales team is significant, and too often, individuals are thrust into leadership without the right tools, mindset, or training to succeed. I would argue that Core 4 Leadership is a must-read for new sales leaders or even for seasoned leaders who need a refresher on what it means to be an exceptional leader.
That said, this book isn’t just for sales leaders. Aspiring leaders or even individual sales reps who want to better understand leadership dynamics would benefit from reading it. The insights Alec shares provide a fresh perspective that can elevate anyone’s approach to sales and leadership.
One of the book’s greatest strengths lies in its simplicity and clarity. Sales and leadership can often feel overwhelming due to the myriad of attributes one is expected to embody. Alec distills these into four key multipliers: Vision, Skill, Character, and Action. Each of these categories encapsulates the attributes of effective sales leadership, providing a clear and actionable framework. By organizing his concepts around these multipliers, Alec makes it easier for leaders to focus their efforts and develop in a structured, impactful way.
Whether you’re a sales leader, an aspiring manager, or a sales rep looking to gain a new perspective, Core 4 Leadership is a thoughtful, practical guide that delivers value at every level. Alec has created a resource that deserves a spot on every sales professional’s bookshelf.

Simply Lays Out the Most Important Qualities every leader is looking for.
The simplicity of the concepts and how clear the principles are laid out. A lot of books have a lot of info but it’s all jumbled together and it’s hard to take away the overall message. Core 4 masterfully executes this and leaves the reader with tangible takeaways they can bring back into their life. It’s such an easy listen too with stories and examples Now when I am going throughout my day I’m making decisions based on “would a leader high in character act this way” etc…
This book was long overdue. Many leaders are desperate to level up so they can take care of their people at a high level. Core 4 gave me what I was needing and then some..

An excellent breakdown of leadership in sales and more
I really enjoyed this read/listen. The author does a great job of presenting an easily understandable framework for sales leadership that can extend into general business leadership. The principles taught are not new. They show up in many leadership books, but Nethercott presents them with his own anecdotes and experience so the reader gets a fresh perspective on the principles. I personally took the vision section into how I lead at my company. This book is exceptionally good at teaching the reader how to train sales leaders. It provides a method for analyzing and then improving the author's presented core four leadership areas in your own sales leaders. I highly recommend the read to anyone looking for a good book on business and especially to those who manage sales teams.

Details & organization of this book is phenomenal
I’ve been an entrepreneur for 5 years and this book has helped me navigate how to keep the fuel to the fire. Being a leader can be so fulfilling but difficult to navigate without a proven path & plan. Love how simple but effective the principles are!
