Publisher's summary

A sexy, small town, opposites attract rom com!

He wears suits and ties. He'll one day inherit a fortune. He has a law degree. He shines his shoes, for God's sake. What is she doing attracted to a guy like him? But she is. She so is.

She drives air boats on the bayou, drinks and cusses, and gives city boys in suits a hard time just for fun. Why can't he get her out of his mind? But he can't. He definitely can't.

A weekend trip to Savannah for a fancy-schmancy party with his highfalutin family is the surefire way to prove that they have nothing in common but intense chemistry. And to maybe scratch this I've-never-wanted-anyone-like-I-want-you itch once or twice. Or five times.

But it takes only about 24 hours for the bayou girl and the city boy to figure out that they don't really know much at all - about each other, or about themselves. And figuring all of this out is going to be downright crazy.

Can two people so different make a go of it?

Crazy Rich Cajuns by Erin Nicholas sees us back in Autre but not for long. Bennett Baxter has finally made his move and Kennedy Landry thinks she ready for it. When she discovers she is not, it is too late. She is head-over-heels for this man who polishes his shoes, for crying out loud! He invites her to Savannah for his father's retirement party. Is she to shock his mother? Probably, but really he just wants the chance to spend the time with her and get to know her, and she him. When his mother's plans interfere and take him away from her, she adjusts and spends time with his mother's family and their friend, Charles, getting drunk and eating po' boys. He wants her even more after seeing that happen. Things progress, both in and out of bed and things are not going as he had expected, but maybe even better?

Kennedy is badass. She dresses in black, has piercings and tattoos, and takes no guff from anyone. Is his mother shocked? Maybe just a little, but she steps up and goes head on with her. Kennedy actually tempers herself, just a little. She liked Bennett and didn't really want to cause him problems. Bennett discovers just how much he likes Kennedy. Kennedy discovers that she is intelligent and has come ideas important people want to listen to. The romance goes more slowly than some, but heats up quickly enough and includes a six-nozzle shower. It ends with a happily-ever-after, but in a very surprising way for those readers who have been following the Boys of the Bayou.

The readers were Jamie Renell and Betsy Moore, who both used slight Southern accents, which have been missed in some of the other books. Jamie was fine, but I really didn't like Betsy's voice. It is hard to describe what I didn't care for, but too often it was whiney and tentative. So not correct for Kennedy. She also seems to have trouble with some of the steamy parts. It was still an enjoyable read/listen.

I was invited to listen to a free audiobook from Audible by the author. All thoughts and opinions are mine.

Totally Terrific!!

Totally terrific was what this book was! The effervescent storyline captures your attention and your heart in the blink of an eye. You can expect plenty of sparks and clever banter as Kennedy and Bennett's long simmering attraction (This is a standalone read but these two make appearances in the three previous books of the series) finally reaches the boiling point. The humor is rich and potent and the feels tug severely on your heartstrings as this couple struggles with their confusion and emotions, while they try to reconcile what their heads tell them they should want with what their hearts actually yearn for. Kennedy, with her goth style, fierceness, sassy attitude and backbone of steel was someone I'd love to be friends with and just hang out with and as for Bennett, he was one silver-tongued, hot nerd with a beautiful heart. As a couple these two were sizzling, sweet and completely swoon worthy! If you are looking for a great romantic read that can deliver heat, heart, an excellent storyline, lovable characters and loads of laughs, you can't go wrong with this book and in fact this entire series. The dual narrators delivered a performance that had you fiercely engaged, charmed and entertained.

Loved Bennett and Kennedy

I have to admit, I've been waiting for Kennedy and Bennett to happen since the first book in this series, and I am so happy that Erin Nicolas didn't save their story for last, because it is such a fantastic story.

Small town rom com series with amazing casts - that is clearly Erin's specialty. And the town of Autre, LA, and the Landry family, certainly gives us a fantastic cast of characters. Each Landry has their own personality, and apparently Kennedy Landry's the family ball-buster! She is gutsy, outspoken, determined, and focused. She's also determined to make Bennett insane and prove to this city guy that Autre is not the right place for him. Little does she know, Bennett considers himself a Bayou boy at heart. I loved their friction, their spark, and their chemistry.

An absolute great read. And the audio, narrated by Jamie Renell and Betsy Moore, is a treat to listen to. Both of these narrators are new to me, and I'm looking forward to hearing more from them in the future.

Just LOVE this Couple!!!

This story is focused on Bennett and Kennedy... AND IT IS AMAZING! I loved Kennedy and Bennett's story! Kennedy is such an feisty, amazing person who refuses to conform to anyone's view of who she should be, but she loves very hard. Bennett is a man made of money and from Savannah high society. But the minute he met Kennedy, he fell head over heels, and even Kennedy cannot deny their chemistry. This couple is just fire and you don't want to stop listening! I love that their story is about finding something bigger than yourself, that love is something you shouldn't be afraid to plug head first into. Bennett tricks Kennedy into going to Savannah with him for a long weekend - which changes their lives forever.

I love these narrators too! They voiced these amazing characters so well and brought 2 of my favorite characters to life! I cannot wait to see what these two will be doing in the next few books!! #AudiobookObsessionReviewer

oh yeah, down and dirty on the Bayou!

Kennedy has never met a man she couldn't wrap around her finger... Bennett is no exception but he's got her hot and bothered (and me too!!) As well!

This may be Erin's hottest and steamiest book and couple!!

This couple gives great banter and the narrators were great together.

BEST performance by far!

Of the four books I’ve listened to, these two performers did the best job in character voices AND accents.

Great addition to the series.

Kennedy and Bennett appear to be complete opposites (enemies to lovers). Kennedy is a former pageant queen who hung up her heels for combat boots and the bayou. Bennett is a businessman with shiny shoes that enjoys spending time at the bayou on the weekends. There is so much more to these two characters that you’ll have to read/listen to in order to learn. I couldn’t adore them more and hoped they’d get out of their own way to become the power couple they were meant to be. This was a quick easy listen and the narration was good.

Crazy Rich Cajuns

I realized that if you never do anything new, you never learn anything. And learning things changes you. Even if those things aren’t what you intended to learn.

Bennett and Kennedy have been flirting with each other for a very long time but Kennedy always thought it was just harmless flirting. So when he requests that she go to Savannah with him, she is surprised. Not sure how she is going to fit in, Bennett tells her to just be herself so his family will see how much he does not want the life they want him to have. After spending some real-time together they realize that they really do not know each other or themselves.

Officially my favourite Boys of the Bayou book. The tension between Bennett and Kennedy has been brewing since the second book and I have been waiting anxiously to get their story. The banter between them is hot, fierce and hilarious. As much as Bennett and Kennedy were opposites on the outside they are perfect for each other on the inside. They both took me by surprise from what I thought that they would be like from the prior books. The chemistry between them was like a burning inferno. I totally recommend this book.

Audio: This was my first time listening to these narrators and I really enjoyed both of them. They both did a great job bringing the characters and story to life and were both great with the southern accents.

Bennett!!!

The chemistry between Kennedy and Bennett is scorching! I loooved the interactions, the snark, the steam. They have been my favorite couple so far and that is saying something as I have loooove the previous audios as well! This series has seriously cemented its spot in my heart. I love how each book has a little different feel based on the couple but always brings me that Bayou Landry lovin' I crave. Fantastic characters, fabulous writing and AMAZING narrators! Can't say enough good things about the Boys of the Bayou!
