nice short story

I love a good cozy mystery, and this was really good. Even though it's short. It didn't leave on a cliffhanger. would definitely recommend this to anyone who loves a good cozy mystery

Murder with a side of Mystery

This is a cute but short cozy mystery. The characters are a bit quirky but the story is good. Angel Clark does it again with her fantastic voices that make the story believable. I received this book for free and this is my honest unbiased review.

Creamed at the Coffee Cabana

Creamed at the Coffee Cabana is the first in a series of (very) short cozy mysteries staring Lily and her two aunts. It is tough to pull off a good mystery in under 2 hours, but I think Constance Barker succeeded. This first mystery is the death of a mean "girl". There isn't a whole lot of time for story development and intrigue, but I think this was well done. The short time allowed me to finish a book in one morning between my commit and lunch. Sometime is it nice to have a shorter listen!

I would recommend this book to cozy mystery fans.

Quick, straightfoward whodunnit short story

When the small town gossip-monger turns up dead in the back of the local coffee shop, the owners Lily and her aunts turn detective to determine who the killer is. But as the victim has been spreading painful gossip for years, almost anyone in town could be a suspect.

Constance Barker plots a well paced, interesting whodunnit here. While short the story gives enough time to each of the main characters to ensure they are individual and likable.

While fairly straight forward the mystery does provide enough intrigue and twists to keep you going.

Angel Clark is easy enough to listen to. She starts off shakily, putting some awkward pauses into some sentances but that disappears soon enough (or I got used to it so I didnt notice it anymore - either way, it went away). Each character is given their own voice and is easily distiguishable, while imparting the associated emotions etc.

Overall, well worth the (short) time investment.

Loved this, and so did my kids!

If you could sum up Creamed at the Coffee Cabana: A Cozy Mystery in three words, what would they be?

Fun, cozy, engaging

Who was your favorite character and why?

I liked Hildie...she reminds me of a great aunt I have. I also liked the way she countered Essie's negative -nelly attitude.

What about Angel Clark’s performance did you like?

Great vocal range. Her characters all sounded different, and just they way I imagined that they should sound.

Was there a moment in the book that particularly moved you?

I was surprised by the killer. Didn't see that one coming.

Any additional comments?

I'd read some of the author's books, but think I prefer the audio books better. Her characters are so much fun, I just want to hear them given "real" voices.

So many suspects!

Creamed at the Coffee Cabana, first book in a series by Constance Barker, was incredibly enjoyable to listen to. I truly never considered the guilty person as a suspect. What an intriguing surprise!
The narrator was excellent! I was easily transported into the town, alongside the characters.
Ms. Barker has crafted a tricky mystery, with relatable characters, and a lovely small town setting. I'm so glad I chose this book, and I'll be moving right on to book two.

Excellent

Delightful, funny, plot is good, love her description of the characters. Keeping in mind of the Coffee Cabana, as one enters " sweets with the sweets. Didn't refers to the two aunts, they come in one flavor, crusty. Good read for all to enjoy.
Good narration, given audio for my voluntary review and my voluntary review

ok

It's an ok cozy mystery but the story is too short for there to be any character or plot development.
