The reasons why this book is part of my daily life

Her voice. I have the paperback version of the book and use it as a desk reference and tool in my life and work. I have been waiting for the audible version to come out so that I can hear Dr. Debra speak the words to me. Her calm nature and soothing voice bring their own benefit to the depth and beauty of this meaningful work.

It's relatable. Walking through Brenda's journey, gives the book context that might otherwise be missed in how powerful these understandings and tools really are. I can look at my life on any given day and see there's a chapter or an energetic that I am enfolded in. Dr Debra describes these energetics through the experience of emotion and behaviour towards self and others and this makes it a book that any person can pick up and find themselves in.

It has clear understandings. Dr Debra, includes a section on the process for creating change. This section describes the steps in a well known 'Stages of Change Model' used by social workers, therapists and psychologists; I find when you can plot where you are in your process of change you can understand where you are in the moment. Her other tools that she describes in this book will help anyone who is looking to live their life through a lens of conscious and deliberate choice towards responsible and empowered behaviour. Dr. Debra also gives practical applications and tools like 'actions and antidotes' for specific life difficulties, using these tools will help you land with your boots on the ground so you can walk forward through the difficulties in your life.

It's beautiful. I love words and metaphors and any work that can take me through a beautiful journey and perch me on the edge of potential so that I can smell the fragrance of possibility in the air is definitely part of my life library. THIS is that book for me. It brings me clarity in self reflection. I turn to it often because it is organised in a way that I can get my finger on a point of reference quickly and make a quick pivot in my present moment experience. It is not lost on me that these are modern day understandings on an ancient wisdom, and in a way, that carries with it a significance that can't be described or put into words. Her use of affirmation, intention and breath prayers for the trigrams of the Tao is transformative.

Quiet wisdom. This little gem contains a depth of wisdom that grows with you in your own personal understanding of self. As you go through advancing stages of spiritual maturity you will come to understand that this simple and complete wisdom is all you will ever need to understand the rhythm of your own life.

I love it. I think that says it all.
