Publisher's summary

On the outside, 17-year-old Selena McKinley is like any other teenage girl. Yet Selena has always felt as if she doesn't belong. She is counting the days until graduation, and her freedom from the small town that makes her feel so out of place, when the arrival of a stranger turns her world upside down. Selena will learn just how different she is and the truth of where she comes from.

A lost princess, they call her, the catalyst for a war involving a world that Selena was taken from as a child. An evil queen obsessed with her own beauty, with a plan to enslave the human race.... The notion seems so silly, yet Selena knows in her heart that it is true. Then there is Titus, the shape shifter whose blue eyes and claims of destiny hold her heart captive. Can Selena find the strength to do what she must while following her heart?

New Twist on Fairytale Romance

Would you try another book from Alicia Michaels and/or Kristina Klemetti?

Yes, definitely. I also read The Bionics and really enjoyed that

Would you recommend Daughter of the Red Dawn to your friends? Why or why not?

Yes - it's a bit young for me - more focused on a teen audience I think, but it's a pretty well done retake on the fairytales we grow up with and is fairly charming. Good read for young teens - charming, just enough breathy (g-rated) young romance and a good tale of adventure, good over evil...youngster who knows she doesn't quite belong...

What about Kristina Klemetti’s performance did you like?

She has a slightly unusual accent that suits the characters, but unfortunately the voice comes across with a bit too much 'static' - I found if I turned down the volume a bit it was ok and I you have bass/treble control it should be fine

Could you see Daughter of the Red Dawn being made into a movie or a TV series? Who should the stars be?

Possibly yes, but I have no idea who could be cast

Any additional comments?

I was given a book for an honest review. All in all not a bad book but I much preferred The Bionics - more my speed. That said, I'm pretty sure this book will be much liked by young fairytale romance book afficionados

Daughter of the Red Dawn

This book was magical!Kristina Klemetti may be the best female narrator there is.She brought so much life and reflection to Selena, our main character.Slelna is a teenager who has never really fit in.Her parents are dead and she was raised by her grandmother...or WAS she? As it turns out,she is a princess and is one of just a few last hopes of Fallada.

Selena finally knows who she is

If you could sum up Daughter of the Red Dawn in three words, what would they be?

Wicked, Fantasy, Action!

What other book might you compare Daughter of the Red Dawn to and why?

I'm not sure if I've read any other book quite like "Daughter of the Red Dawn" & I've read alot of fantasy books in my time. I would say it's more like the TV series 'Once Upon a Time' as it's filled with fairy tales but giving you a different look at them.

What does Kristina Klemetti bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you just read the book?

As I've read & LOVED the book, I found listening to Kristina enjoyable, I especially loved the different voices for the characters, I'm terrible at voices (even in my head).

If you were to make a film of this book, what would the tag line be?

I'm bad at taglines.... ummm

Will Selena accept her heritage & save Fallada???

Any additional comments?

Reading the interrations between Titus & Selena was enjoyable, but listening to them... WOW it made some scenes 100x hotter. Then Adra's opening & following scenes, I was quickly lost in her voice.

Kristina adds so much more to this story, I would love to listen to anything she has narrated, but I think the book itself has alot to do with her narration magic.

If you could sum up Daughter of the Red Dawn in three words, what would they be?

This is one amazing story, not your common love story or your common werewolf story....but a story of a love with twists, turns, magic, power, demons and other creatures that will blow you away. I enjoy listening to the story and the narrator did a good job

Absolutely Loved This Paranormal YA Romance Tale!

The narrator did a great job bringing the story to life. Her voice was perfect. It was unusually alluring! I have found a great new author & narrator! My favorite genre is Paranormal YA romance so I was thrilled to have found another great series.

Selena was stolen from her parents castle as a young child and dropped in the human world and raised by "her grandmother" or so she thinks. Her world comes crashing when she meets Titus. He was sent to kill her but his heart gets in the way. His family is being held by an evil queen and he has to obey her or harm will come to his family.

I enjoyed the suspense, drama, romance, and the well developed characters in this enchanting tale. Fallada sounds like a beautiful kingdom. I'm looking forward to reading/listening more about this land. The story is told in multiple POV. You get to know the characters well.

Amazing!!!

This is a wonderful book about finding ones self, excepting destiny and embracing it. There are seven lost Princesses and this one is about the first one to be found. I highly recommend this book.

Once again i fall in love with one of my favorite series, from my fave author Alicia Michaels. Kristinas voice is seriesly awesome and pulls you in from the start. She is truly gifted with the diffrent tones she brings to the characthers. If you love Fae Queens, with a bruting fae general, Princesses who are warrios ,werewolf shifters and the mythical world of Fallada. Then you have got the right book. This story has all you need and won't leave you dissapointed.

Oh where to start, first I want to say that this author is an excellent story teller...she writes under different pen names and I just really like her! Her other pen name is Elise Marion...and yes I recommend her work!

This is the story of Selena...a little lost princess...she doesn't know it, and has been living in the regular old human world....She lives with her grandma...and works at the DQ...well she happens to meet a mysterious boy name Titus...she is drawn to him...and him to her...well Titus has been sent to assassinate her from the land of Fallada by an evil queen!!!! Well he just cant do it....but he does try...oh and by the way..Titus is a wolf...and on his last attempt poof in come the Brothers Grimm!!!! Well we find out who Selena is, and that Grandma actually found Selena in a basket at the county fair...see all the little princesses of high importance in Fallada were sent off and lost....and now it is important that they be found to defeat Evil in there land!

I really enjoyed this book, and can not wait for book 2....you will love it too! I recommend....there is all kinds of good stuff in this book, from love to hate...struggle and fighting...family reunions.... and victory!!!!

Brings the story alive

I am a huge fan of Alicia Michaels. When I had the opportunity to listen to Daughter of the Red Dawn, I was super excited. I had no idea that The Lost Kingdom of Fallada series was on audio.
When reading the story, the kingdom of Fallada is so well described that a great picture can be formed in the readers mind. But when listening to it, the kingdom pops out and you can almost touch it.
Listening to the Daughter of the Red Dawn was just amazing. The voices are alive for each of the characters.
Selena has always known she was different. Being raised by her grandmother has been different but she knows she is loved by her. One day she gets approached by Titus and she finds out how different she is. She is the first of the 7 princesses to be returned to the lost kingdom of Fallada to save it.
