Love It!

I loved the audio edition of Dead Shot. Yes, I had already read the book. So I knew what was going to happen. But that didn't detract from the excellent plot. Allyson Voller did a great job with the narration.

Been waiting for this.

I've been waiting for this to finally come to Audible. I've read it many times, but I listen to more books now a days.
McKenzie Meyers is an Army Specialist whose training growing up in her father's Wild West show have made her an amazing soldier and hero. Although she would tell you that she's not. But her ability with weapons has earned her the nickname of Dead Shot.
She's haunted by the lives she's taken. One of the things that keeps her going is the "Voice of an angel" that is her squad's overwatch, Valkyrie One.
When her father dies suddenly, she returns home for the first time in a long while to help her grandmother with the funeral arrangements. While out for an evening, trying to come to grips with it all, she overhears a voice that she's only ever heard over her radio on the other side of the world, Valkyrie One? And then the story really gets going.
This is chock-full of Erik Schubach's trademark characters and writing that keep me coming back again and again. I can't recommend it highly enough. Sadly, there are only five stars available for this review, because it deserves SEVEN!

Another Good One

I've officially listened to all of the books in this series. Spoiler alert but I'm glad this one didn't have a "running away leaving everyone in panic mode trying to find someone" section. And there are some good hold in your tears tear jerker moments. I was almost sad how this book was going to end until of course I kept listening and was yet again happy with the ending. Deadshot is kind of different but still good as far as her connection to everyone in the book. I'm glad they stuck with the same narrator throughout this series - Allyson Volker - as I probably wouldn't care to finish the series unless with specific narrators I've come to enjoy. I love how his books IMO are about love, strength, and perseverance and much more. Would recommend!

HOOAHH!!

okay as a Disabled Veteran I love this story, the portions referring to Kenzie's PTSD are so very accurate! I am a combat veteran with PTSD and the nightmares and personal reflection and doubts are startlingly clearance correct. I am also from the South and the narrator got the accent down pat LOL! The only thing I don't like is the cover. The soldier is dressed all wrong for desert operations, I mean, green with long sleeves and 20 year old camo pattern that hasn't been used since the 90's, black gloves and heavy coat. PLEASE CORRECT THE 🙏 COVER. (The soldier also looks very small to be 6 feet,...though she is cute.)
