Publisher's summary

Lady Frances Ffolkes finds more trouble than expected in this second cozy mystery from R. J. Koreto.

Lady Frances Ffolkes is incensed when she finds out that her dear friends Gwendolyn and Thomasina have been subject to vicious threats. Promising to uncover their attacker, she travels with them to Kestrel's Eyrie, the fabled estate belonging to Gwen's family. But soon Frances faces an even greater problem, when Gwen's father, a powerful diplomat, is stabbed to death with his prized ruby dagger.

Frances, with her loyal maid June Mallow at her side, jumps right into interrogating the estate's numbered guests: a charming Turkish diplomat with a habit of sneaking off into the night, a brash American heiress with lofty dreams of becoming mistress of the Eyrie, two gossiping widows with their own scandalous secrets, and Gwen's own aunt tasked with keeping the affairs of the estate in order among the chaos of the investigation. But as the case unfolds, Frances' righteous conviction might just be the very thing that leads danger - and even more death - to her own doorstep.

Old sins do indeed cast long shadows in Death Among Rubies, a delightful closed-room mystery in the vein of Agatha Christie and the second in R. J. Koreto's effortlessly charming historical series.

Mystery in the Country.

What a fun mystery that kept me on my toes. I was unsure of who did it until the very end. When ladies have a place in life but not all conform to it that is when you have a great female Holmes! Enjoy

Good listen

I enjoyed these two books and hope for a third. Most people like the narrator, but something about her speech cadence grates on me. Sorry Justine.

Interesting murder mystery

The story includes complex machinations by a number of the characters as well as political leanings to support the Suffragettes as well as a minor reference to same, -sex couples.
I enjoyed it.

Very good story! 🙂

This book was just as good as 'Death on the Sapphire'. It is most annoying that Audible has never recorded the third book of this trilogy. Someone should hit them on the nose with a rolled-up newspaper. 😉

My favorite

The lady Frances folks series is quite possibly my favorite and I really can not wait for the next book in the series to be read by the same narrator, she is the very best!

A Delightful Murder Mystery-Saint Maries, I

Lady Frances and her maid June Mallow are a very intriguing pair. There ability to search out the killer of several people was exceptional and kept me on my toes trying to figure out “Who Dun It”..
There are many twist and turns to keep you captivated.
I enjoyed listening to this second book in the series even more than the first.
