Bad ending

There is no way that a nearly 11 hour listen should have such a vague ending. Even if this book is a series, there needs to be a pay off with that much time invested. C'mon!!

The mystery was good enough. You know the guy they arrested was not the guy. The suits just had to figure it out. I loved the two PI's coming together and can see their energy working for future stories. None of that forgives that horrible, not-even-close-to-making-sense, ending. UGH!!

Nice try, but disappointing.

The story had potential, but the dialogue seemed contrived and a bit corny. The reader tried hard to do different voices between characters, however her range was limited. It might have been better read by a male reader. The Lange character was not believable in terms of his casual approach to taking on the Russian mafia. The ending was particularly disappointing, abrupt, implausible and vague as to what actually motivated the girl’s murder. The implication was that the step father’s illicit relationship with the girl led to the murder, but the writer didn’t fully close the loop on this. Clearly, Ronald Tierney is no Steve Cavanagh.

The narrator has a stuffy nose.

No, your phone doesn't arouse you. It rouses you. Your basic PI story. Couldn't make it through.

Not a sexy cold voice

Narrator has a cold, or sounds like she does. Skipped ahead a number of chapters to see if she got better. Nope. Can't listen, it grosses me out.
