About this listen

Gray has been taken captive and become the host of a Controller.

But not for long, not if Cole has anything to say about it. Determined to recover his hijacked crew member, he sets out to do what he does best: raise hell and kick ass.

With his co-captain still recovering from her injuries and the Star Treader in need of a commander in his absence, Cole breaches the occupied Anypsian warship alone. Getting Gray back won't be easy and neither will what comes after.

Cosmic scales are close to imbalance.

When bureaucracy rears its ugly head, only a Renegade and his steadfast crew stand between the enemy and a catastrophe that could echo across the universe.

Not as strong as prior books

Can't really place it but this book seemed routine and just another day ending in "Y". not saying it was bad or not worth listening to just no wow facture.

Good action and pacing ? some of the dialog

I could do without the some of the childish banter. It is a weak method connection to the actions.

Deracine Sun

I loved the book, I love the series, the only thing I don't love is the next book isn't ready to buy now. Thanks for an interesting and exciting space opera. Waiting for the next installment.

Author has an extremely limited vocabulary

The performance is excellent. The storyline is very good. Some authors sprinkle a little profanity in their stories to enhance the characters and situations. This author deluges the reader/listener with constant mind numbing vulgarity. What could be a great story is derailed by the author’s limited vocabulary. This is the worst of the series. It is my last. I turn to books to get away from the constant bombardment from society’s use of the noun, verb and gerund forms of the “F” word. Chaney has made a mistake and sullied his name by teaming up with Lerma. I will also look very carefully before purchasing anything with Chaney’s name on it in the future too.

To many inconsistencies

Entertaining but takes some large leaps away from a potential reality. Without spoiling anything, I felt that too many scenarios were contrived and not adding up at all. I had to put this one down.
