Her deadly dreams leave her in grave danger.
Since half-vampire Cat Crawfield and her undead lover Bones met six years ago, they've fought against the rogue undead, battled a vengeful Master vampire, and pledged their devotion with a blood bond. Now it's time for a vacation. But their hopes for a perfect Paris holiday are dashed when Cat awakes one night in terror. She's having visions of a vampire named Gregor who's more powerful than Bones and has ties to her past that even Cat herself didn't know about.
Gregor believes Cat is his and he won't stop until he has her. As the battle begins between the vamp who haunts her nightmares and the one who holds her heart, only Cat can break Gregor's hold over her. She'll need all the power she can summon in order to bring down the baddest bloodsucker she's ever faced . . . even if getting that power will result in an early grave.

Another great one from Jeaniene Frost. Listening to the dramatized adaptations of this series has been a truly enjoyable experience. I’ve both read and listened to this series numerous times and listening to the DAs has brought a favored series to me in a new way.
I was a tiny bit disappointed with some of the narration. In my opinion there were a few lines that were not quite delivered the way I would have expected. This book had a number of zingers and some of them fell flat for me. Although that may be because my original interpretations of the words are seared into my mind from when I first came across them.
Humorous Jabs at Frenemies

As for the character of Kat, she is an emotional child, impulsive, obnoxious and lacks strategic thinking. I can't understand why anyone wants to spend a few minutes with her. Her dialogue is not smart, enlightened or even witty. There is the hurling of insults like you would find on a playground, but nothing approaching sophisticated.
When she gains more power, it's like seeing a spoiled rich person getting more money. Instead of being interested, I just feel it's so unfair. Most of the problems are caused by Kat and the rest have to sacrifice for her. In one scene, she leaves with the only person that can read her thoughts and he is agonized having to listen to her wining/pitty party in her head. She could have gone with just about anyone else, but does not think this through, then keeps running like a brat.
The only interesting person is Bones. He keeps me coming back, but after 4 books, he is still with the dumb, pantyless twit. I give up.
I am starting to really like Spade. The scene where he calls her an idiot, then a little later Kat calls herself n idiot, is truly the only accurate thing in the book. When even the FMC thinks she's an idiot, you should believe it.
FMC is an idiot
