Caught between the devil and the deep blue sea...

Police Chief Delaney Reed is good at keeping secrets for the beach town of Ordinary Oregon - just ask the vacationing gods or supernatural creatures who live there.

But with the first annual Cake and Skate fundraiser coming up, the only secret Delaney really wants to know is how to stop the unseasonable rain storms. When all the god powers are stolen, a vampire is murdered, and her childhood crush turns out to be keeping deadly secrets of his own, rainy days are the least of her worries.

Hunting a murderer, outsmarting a know-it-all god, and uncovering an ancient vampire’s terrifying past isn’t how she planned to spend her summer. But then again, neither is falling back in love with the one man she should never trust.

Performed by Colleen Delany, Henry Kramer, Karen Novack, Michael Glenn, Richard Rohan, Amanda Forstrom, Chris Genebach, Tia Shearer, Tony Nam, Bruce Alan Rauscher, Nick DePinto, Holly Vagley, Jonathon Church, Paul Reisman, Ren Kasey, Ken Jackson, Dani Stoller, Joe Mallon, Eric Messner, Michael John Casey, Tim Carlin, Steve Wannall, Lise Bruneau, Mort Shelby, Rose Elizabeth Supan, Andy Brownstein, Alejandro Ruiz, David Zitney, Scott McCormick.

2nd Book Amazing!!

Love all the characters and the narrators. This book had me in a roller coaster of emotions. Someone took the gods powers. The MMC is working for a secret organization. A war between the wolfs and vampires might break out. And the cliffhanger, hoping them can find who was taken.

The plot thickens, and the story gets more complic

I enjoyed the fact that the story is evolving, but there were certain things that I think should have been done differently. I did enjoyed all the characters' banter enormously, and the book was a lot of fun. Continuing to the next book.

Even better

The story reveals a lot of secrets everyone is holding. The adaptation is fun because everyone has a real voice.

To much background noise

I preferred the first book in the series better the format used for the second book. I found the background noise made it difficult to hear the characters. I’m 59 with tinnitus, Also the voice of Ryder Bailey didn’t fit the character for me. The voice sounded a little bit to light in the loafers.

Overall Fun!

These are fun little listens that are unique and unexpected. Granted, when listening, you could probably guess what might happen next, but that really doesn't take away from the story too much. If you're looking for smut, this is not the place! Once again, Graphic Audio could've done better with the music and sound effects, but it doesn't take away too much from the book/experience.

I hate graphic audio

I’ve read these books in the past and enjoyed them but the story is ruined in the audio version by all the background noise. People talking with their mouth full, slurping their drinks, tinny irrelevant music playing in the background. Ugh. So annoying. I wanted to listen to the whole series but it doesn’t look like I have a choice of choosing just the regular audiobooks on some of the books. Sorry Devon.

It’s OK

I really like the graphic audio stories because it adds a little life to a single narrator story, but my biggest pet peeve with this one was the slurping when a character would drink something. That’s not normal. I could understand if the character intentionally slurped a drink for the purpose of being annoying, but when someone takes a sip of something..it was horribly annoying. Also there seemed to be some static or feedback which I gathered was meant to indicate the god’s powers, but it was very distracting. The story itself if OK.
