This is an amazing book. First I just thank its author, 2nd the translator’s grandfather for having it in his library, and the translator for making the effort to bring this to a wider audience. I only wish my father were still alive so I could share this book with him. This book is flat out a must read. I love history, it’s here, I love war history, it’s here. I love obscure knowledge of the world and it’s history, it’s here. This is an amazing resource for any author who wishes to include anything about gems in their books as it covers everything from discovery, carving, trading, and the history be it bloody or otherwise and what it inspires. I learned so much and have many notes in my wishlist of things to learn more about just from this one tale. Get it, listen to it and share it. I have already recommended this personally to several friends and family
