A sexy, sassy & fun action-packed adventure!

Dior or Die is an extremely rich and imaginative adventure! Akers did a FANTASTIC job developing a very entertaining premise & equally entertaining characters! While this is a fictitious story, I can’t help but feel that Akers did an extensive amount of research to make the story of a bombshell, covert paramilitary operative extremely convincing. Narrator, Stacey Lind did an AMAZING job bringing the characters to life in a big and vibrant way, even taking on various accents! All in all, this was a very enjoyable book and I look forward to the sequels!

Interesting

I enjoyed the book. It’s not everyday you inherit millions of dollars and still want to keep working. She’s a strong lady with a good heart. I’m interested in listening to the next book.

Really great read

Great story! Mystery, humor and a bad ass protagonist. I can’t wait for the sequel! Loved the authors vivid descriptions.

Dior or Die - Exciting first novel by new author

Davia is a strong woman who does not lead a dull life! Starts out as the only woman in an elite Special Ops team with its own list of interesting characters. And while recovering from an “on-the job” injury inherits a great deal of money with many stipulations and a whole new list of even more interesting people who come into her life. Ms. Akers does an excellent job of describing each character, each scene so that you feel as if you’ve been transformed into Davia’s world. This novel is full of intrigue, intense action, high fashion, and one could only dream of the beautiful décor in Rancho Suprema! It’s fast paced and even so, Ms. Akers does not skimp on details.
Davia goes from combat boots, torn jeans and tee shirts to exquisite gowns, hair extensions, expensive jewels, lingerie and heels and yet still loves her jeans and tee shirts. You can’t help but smile when her keen sense of humor comes out even while in a battle for her life with someone intent to kill her. The sexual tension between Davia and her love interest with a member of her Ops team and then with a new possible love interest in her new life of wealth is tastefully written (in other words, plenty descriptive without being vulgar). I found myself torn between which man I wanted her to be with. They were both intriguing and obviously not lacking for their looks.
This was my first experience in doing an Audio Book. I found I could not wait to work in my garden each day so that I could listen to more. I spend several hours each day working on yard projects and after two days of starting this book I completed it late yesterday. At the end of this reading is an excerpt from the beginning of Ms. Aker’s next book and I cannot wait to hear and find out what adventures are awaiting Davia next. And kudos to the narrator Stacey Lind…she was great portraying all the interesting characters of this book – accents and all! I loved this book!

A fun ride!

As both a girly girl and tomboy, this story really spoke to me! As others have noted, I could've wished for a more thorough intro to the story line, but once the plot settled in, things got good. Narrator Stacey Lind does a great job with the range of characters (and accents!) and left me wishing that Adair Monroe was a real person (SWOON). Here's hoping for a sequel.

Ended up enjoying the story, LOVED the narrator

Honestly, as another reviewer mentioned I had some trouble getting into this story. The beginning felt rushed and a bit forced and I felt like I was being led around from point a to b to c to cover certain background points. But then things got FUN! I ended up really enjoying the story - the fast-paced action, the wit and sarcasm, the dialogue - all were really well done. Great attention to detail in a lot of areas as the book progressed and it kept me laughing and intrigued. But the real star was the narrator - Stacey Lind did a fabulous job capturing Davia's personality, quirks, humor and sarcasm. Not to mention the accents across various characters - I lost count of how many there were, and all so believable and listenable. Not yet sure if I'm #teamwarden or #teamadair, but I'll definitely be reading the next installment to find out!

Great narration

I struggled to get into this book, the only thing that kept me going was the fabulous narration by Stacey Lind. The events of this book happen at whiplash speed and it was sometimes hard to keep up. I also wish that the relationship development between Dav and Warden had been fleshed out more in the beginning. He went from being an asshole to kissing her, it felt sort of forced.

The story was enjoyable once I got deeper into the book. It's witty and the action scenes are great.

Looking forward to the next one!

So much enjoyed getting to know the character of Davia Glenn. Full of suspense and excitement with a bit of romance thrown in. Enthralling enough for me to wake up early, put my earbuds in and go for a walk so I could listen to hear what happens next.
