About this listen

An empowering and witty guide to banishing shame and living your fullest life with ADHD—plus tips for loved ones on helping them navigate this world, too—from viral duo ADHD_Love.

What if you stopped feeling ashamed of constantly being late or of getting so hyperfocused on a task that you drop everything else you had to do? How can you as a partner, parent, or friend better understand your neurodivergent loved one’s way of moving through the world?

In Dirty Laundry, life partners Rich Pink and Rox Emery unapologetically guide you through the ups and downs of life with ADHD. Every chapter starts with a common symptom of ADHD, like impulsivity or struggles with finances, and an earnest moment from their own lives to show you how they navigate the symptom together. Rox reminds you to be kind to yourself and love yourself for who you are; Rich offers tips on how he uses compassion and honesty instead of jumping to conclusions. Whether it's helping your ADHDer with friendly time-checks before an appointment or reminding yourself to take breaks during hours spent hyperfocusing on a new project, Rox and Rich give you the tools to destigmatize and normalize life with ADHD.

New to my ADHD & this changed my life.

I was recently diagnosed with ADHD at 37 years old. It has literally changed my life to come to understand the source for all the shame I have experienced throughout different parts of my life, as well as of some of the reasons I do the things I do. This was a quick, fun, interesting and informative listen and I am incredibly grateful to have found this book. I hope it can help others the way that it has helped me! Thank you Rich & Rox! I wish you all the love in the universe.

A Great Read

As someone who was diagnosed with ADHD and Dyslexia as a kid, I definitely had some advantages to Rox along with amazing parents, who helped me learn strategies to use my ADHD to my advantage before leaving home after college. This book is definitely a great read with good advice. Just remember every person expresses/experiences their ADHD a bit differently, which they do say at the beginning of the book. Saying that 😅, I did binge listen to the entire book on 1.2 speed while cleaning my house & now that I've finished I'm finally eating dinner ( and writing this review). I love their online content which is actually how I found out about this book. Thank you for sharing your lives and experiences! Wish you all the best learning to take advantage of your ADHD.

Suck perfect relativity

I do hope they write more. Not only is this a perfect raw declaration of things we deal with in ADHD, they offer real feelings real progress, admission of non perfection. One of the best features is the two sided view. She shares the struggles and how she's tried to improve those. Then he gives raw honesty on his view from a neurotypical and how he proceeds to support her so forgivingly yet holding her accountable in ways she can handle.

thank you

World of emotions

I cried at how I was able to describe the world of convoluted emotions I feel all at once and how I’m not the only one. I wish for that type of partnership relationship.

Never felt so heard!

Great book! They talk about the symptoms of ADHD in a way that helps reduce the shame of exhibiting the symptoms. People who don’t struggle with these symptoms rarely understand how debilitating they can be and this book explains in a way most neurodivergent individuals can’t explain to their friends and family.

Wonderfully authentic

I really loved how authentic Rich and Rox were in explaining how they have worked together to understand and work with Rox’s adhd diagnosis. I feel like all adhd’ers would have such a better chance at success if they had that level of understanding and support. It took Rox a lot of work also, allowing that support and being vulnerable enough to voice what she needed. What a great dynamic duo. I feel better understood and learned things I did not realize were part of me that are shared by many. I do not feel so alone. If anything I wish the book was longer. It was not until listening to this audiobook that I realized they had social media coverage at ADHD_love. I just started following them and love their spunk and authenticity there also. 🫶

I followed these two on tiktok when I still had an account. they always made me feel a sense of support and hope. That came through in this story as well, and made me think of my supportive partner and all he does to support me!

spot on and very relatable.

I cried real fat tears as you discussed many of the areas I struggle with everyday. As part of the late diagnosed club, I have not felt like I fit in anywhere throughout my life and now it all makes sense. I'm still learning new habits and still slip up, but I don't feel nearly as much shame as I did before my diagnosis. It also helps to have the feedback from Rich, tge other side of the coin I am unable to understand. Thank you both so much for all you do as you have made me feel normal for the first time in my life.
