Publisher's summary

New York Times best-seller Blackstock delivers a gripping suspense about the deadly consequences of a husband’s lies.

When Juliet Cole’s husband of 15 years is murdered before her eyes, she thinks it was a random shooting. Devastated and traumatized, she answers hours of questioning, then returns home to break the tragic news to her sons. But a threatening voicemail escalates this from a random shooting to a planned, deliberate attack.

Juliet realizes that she and her children are in danger too - unless she meets the killers’ demands. But as she and her sisters untangle the clues, her husband’s dark secrets come to light. The more she learns, the more her life is dismantled. Was her husband an innocent victim or a hardened criminal?

Great Book

I've been reading Terri Blackstock books for years and this is yet another series I would highly recommend. The story kept me guessing. And I absolutely LOVE the author's note at the end.
The reader did a great job, as well.

Suspenseful

Kept me wondering what was going to happen next. The narrator was great. I am never disappointed with Terri Blackstock's books.

Good story with twists

I liked this book better than the first one. The characters acted in a more believable manner and didn't get into situations that would not likely occur in real life. The twists were great with an unexpected ending. I love that this is a Christian author who displays that in her books in a very natural manner.

The performance was good, and it was well read. Many complained that the first book in this series was whiny at times. That distracted me some in the first book, and this reading is much better. The inflections and voicing was very believable. Since I just recently discovered this author, I will follow her books and can't wait to read more of them.

Great read

This book held my attention all the way through, well written and several times made me tear up. I especially like how the writer brings the Word, Jesus, or faith into play as a natural part of the story as any believer would.

Loved the Story... but why the switch???

What made the experience of listening to Distortion the most enjoyable?

Disappointed in the change in narrator. I was driving a long ways so I stuck with it, but almost hurled the iPod out the window going over the Golden Gate Bridge.

Did the plot keep you on the edge of your seat? How?

Absolutely. I think the story's even better than the first one.

What didn’t you like about Nan Gurley’s performance?

Uh, I don't want to be mean, cause we all have to eat, but BIG difference in audio quality, sound and acting ability. Recording seemed echoey, kinda tinny. (Wow, am I getting snobby now! Sorry!) Why the switch? You start a series with a solid narrator, and you switch? Seemed like just a reading, not a performance.

Did you have an extreme reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?

Love the sisters' relationship, they make me laugh and reminds me of my own family; but again, this reader seemed distant. Her writing is better than ever.

Any additional comments?

Terri Blackstock is the best mystery Christian writer I listen to. Go back to the other narrator or one of equal talents. Give Truth Stained Lies a listen, Otherwise, I'm buying only a hardcopy of the next installment and not the audio.
