Comforting

Any additional comments?

My only complaint is that it wasn't longer. Her voice and message seems so sincere and soothing, like a friend.

Love this book!

I read this book before my divorce and it helped tremendously. divorce can be ugly but Lori's book helped give me a road map to handle my divorce with integrity. Lori's positive attitude and guidance have helped me in so many ways. I would highly recommend this book to anybody who's faced with divorce or dealing with the life post divorce. I've read this book a couple times and just bought the audible version so I can listen to it as well.

Grace in the face of sorrow...

I've listened to this book literally 10+ times in the last 9 months of my unexpected separation & divorce. It has been a time of uncertainty, anguish, and a reverent "thin place" where God has brought me up from the depths and made me whole again. Thank you Lori for your grace, wisdom, & obedience in writing and sharing this book. It saved my life. I am enterally thankful.

Honest, Thoughtful, and Helpful

Would you recommend this audiobook to a friend? If so, why?

Lori Anderson delivers her touching story thoughtfully and honestly. "Divorce with Grace" is insightful and filled with real-world examples from the author's own divorce. Instead of being "talked down to" or judged for your "failure," Lori comes across as a comforting and caring friend sharing her tale over a hot cup of coffee.

I highly recommend this book for anyone going through the difficult process of divorce. This book tells you the right way to do it!

I am happy that I discovered this book just when I needed it most. I will be referring to this helpful guide again and again for wisdom, inspiration, and encouragement.

A Healing Journey with Powerful Tools & Advice

What made the experience of listening to Divorce with Grace the most enjoyable?

Ms. Anderson described her experiences with candor, truth, and authenticity. I relied on her candor each night during the first month of the divorce process. I found her honesty refreshing and encouraging. She did not sugarcoat her feelings of disappointment in what life was "supposed to" look like and I found this comforting having myself thought marriage was a lifetime commitment.

What did you like best about this story?

The hope Ms. Anderson provided for healing and moving forward. It was inspiring to know that forgiveness is possible and can be achieved without sacrificing dignity. I was moved by the letter she wrote to her ex-husband and understood clearly why Grace was central to her book title.

Which character – as performed by Lori Anderson – was your favorite?

Ms. Anderson effectively recalled many different feelings and expectations she had along her journey. It truly helped me heal as I listened to her words. My ultimate goal in reading her book was to be able to navigate a divorce keeping my three children at the forefront of each of my actions. Her stories helped provide tools that empowered me to trust that I could continue to live a life filled with faith and grace.

Was there a moment in the book that particularly moved you?

I especially liked her description of taking the martial arts class. Anyone that has gone through the divorce process could benefit from this story alone. I liked how she described specific thoughts - gaining strength from each movement. As an avid reader who likes to research how to help my kids navigate through different life stages, all of the Internet articles, books, magazines - this was the most effective thing I have ever read about how to handle divorce. It is all about empowering oneself, not being a victim and taking back your power in order to move forward and in a healthy way - with grace.

Any additional comments?

I would recommend every divorce and family attorney have at least two copies of this book on their shelf at all times. Going through a divorce has similar qualities that one experiences when losing a loved one by death. Ms. Anderson's voice is one of compassion and teacher at the same time. Wanting to set an example for children who are going through a divorce is complex and Ms. Anderson provided tools which made this the most important book and guide during a time where I often felt in shock. This book helped me feel grounded, empowered and capable. I highly recommend this book as a tool for healing.

Thankful for this book!

Near the end of the book, I found myself saying, “I’m not ready for this book to be done.” Like a good meal, it was nourishing.

I really needed this positive messaging. And, I love the connection to God that the author addresses. Highly recommend.
