About this listen
Frazer Hines reads his own adaptation of a classic adventure for the Doctor and Jamie.
Young astrophysicist Zoe wishes to join Jamie and the Doctor on their travels. To give her fair warning of the dangers she may face, the Doctor uses a mind projector to share one of their most harrowing adventures…
And so, Jamie is forced to relive his struggle against the evil Daleks at their most powerful and calculating. In a complex plot that drags him from modern-day London to Victorian times and finally to the Dalek world of Skaro, he endures ordeals that test his courage, strength – and his friendship with the Doctor – to the limit…
An inventive new retelling of one of Doctor Who’s all-time classic TV stories from Frazer Hines, who starred as the show’s longest-running companion, Jamie McCrimmon.

Story
An unabridged reading of this classic novelisation of a 1968 TV adventure featuring the Second Doctor, as played on screen by Patrick Troughton. For 40 years the Yeti had been quiet, a collector's item in a museum. Then, without warning, it awoke and savagely murdered. At about the same time, patches of mist began to appear in Central London. People who lingered in the mist were found dead, their faces smothered in cobwebs. The cobweb seeped down, penetrating the Underground System.

Story
The TARDIS crewmembers have taken a break from their adventures and are enjoying a rest in a luxury villa. But, in the gory grandeur that is Imperial Rome, things don't stay quiet. If the time travellers can save themselves from being sold as slaves, assassinated by classical hit-men, poisoned by the evil Locusta, thrown to the lions, maimed in the arena and drowned in a shipwreck, they still have to face the diabolical might of the mad Emperor Nero. As if that wasn't enough, they also discover that, although Rome wasn't built in a day, it burnt down in considerably less time.

Enjoyable
This was a well-done retelling of the Doctor Who story Evil of the Daleks. I liked getting Jamie's pov of a very difficult time in his and the Doctor's time together. I am glad I gave it a chance.
