About this listen

It’s rumoured that Dickens wanted to return to his classic novel Oliver Twist, to bring him back into a later book as an older character, but he never managed this before he died. However, if Oliver had returned, what would he have been like? Would the scars of his childhood affect the man he would become? And what of ‘Dodger’, sent to a land halfway around the world, his friend, mentor and master dead because of Oliver?

Dodge & Twist is that story. The tale of two boys, 12 years later, returning into each other’s lives - for both good and bad.

Featuring: Matt Addis, Ben Addis, Tom Michael Blyth, Will Brown, Trevor Cooper, Alexandra Donnachie, Lauren Drummond, Nigel Fairs, David Gooderson, Tom Goodman-Hill, Harry Hepple, Will Howard, James Joyce, Anthony Keetch, Mack Keith-Roach, Matt Lucas, Nick Lucas, Stephen Mangan, William McGeough, David Menkin, Harry Myers,Matty Norgren, Greg Patmore, Miles Richardson, Richard Rycroft, Andy Secombe, Michael Socha, Sheila Steafel, Kara Tointon, Lizzie Waterworth-Santo and Sarah Whitehouse.

Good fun

Very enjoyable performance and pleasant reunion with some old literary friends. Plot is a bit silly, but entertaining.

Acting great, story has some good and bad parts

The acting is superb, the background audio production is great, and there's some really fun heist scenes.

I would have liked it better without an omniscient character - it's more fun to see how a planner adapts when their plan fails.

By the end of the story, I really didn't understand how Oliver and Dodger felt about each other - they both switched between threatening and protecting each other. I didn't understand why they were acting the way they did, or why they'd suddenly feel differently.

The cameos of the Christmas Carol characters distracting to me, and pulled me out of the story.

Dickens would be proud!

Hope that Tony Lee will write the next story in the saga. All the old characters 12 years later. Is Dodger mad or crazy like a fox?

Super listen 👍!

Super listen 👍! Charles Dickens would definitely approve of this sequel to Oliver Twist. He would also very much approve of the ending! If you love Dickens you'll love Dodge & Twist.

A Sequel I Didn't Know I Needed

Listening to this right after finishing the original novel by Dickens was the best way to hear this story I think. Every character in my head came to life (even the dead ones) as I expected them to while I was reading Oliver Twist. I feel I have more closure when it comes to Dodger and Olvier even if this may not have been what Dickens may have ever intended for the two. Great ending to an awesome adventure.
