Publisher's summary

When you stop fighting windmills, imaginary or otherwise, you tend to end up with a lot of time on your hands. Of course, Aleksey Rider-Mikkelsen, Lord of Light Island, isn’t going to get bored. And if he did, he obviously wouldn’t join a preposterous hunt for sunken treasure with Ben and his annoying friends to keep himself entertained. He only has himself to blame, therefore, when a fun adventure suddenly turns deadly serious. There’s a reason some treasure should stay hidden. What he is about to unearth in the sub-tropical paradise of Scilly could have profound implications for the origins of all peoples of the world. And some of his companions are willing to kill to make sure that story is never told.

I love this series

This is my favorite MM series.
The growth between all the characters, the story itself. How it's (the story) outlandish and yet completely draws you in each and every time.

With this one, the sorrow of losing two characters, knowing it was coming and yet the sadness was well done and had me tearing up.

I love how the author will bring up old history, and make it relevant in the current story. ( ten pounds)
I really hope we have more books to come.

I read this when it first came out, but of course bought the audio as soon as it was released.

Gary Furlong always brings the story to life. He is an automatic buy for me.

Homage to BRILLIANCE

This series was well ECK —- EVERYTHING-I have 100s and 100s of books in my audible library TBR…and 100s of 100s of great items in my wish list - but I must put EVERYTHING on hold and listen again to this series of EVERYTHING from the absolute beginning- especially as the POV changes - it’s fitting that the last few books are not in Ben’s POV…as I am like Ben - “I’m with Him- No Matter What!!!!!” Now as an ultimate super fan I must be greedy (pretty please?!:) - may we PLEASE have a series from the Moron’s POV????:)))) Finally - I would be remiss not to mention the EXTREME talent of Gary F!!! PERFECTION!!!! Thank you from the bottom of my heart- for my absolute favorite series of all time!!!!!! And now back to the beginning…..!!!!!!!!!!!!

i adore this series, but this one left me feeling a tiny bit

I’ve been a huge fan of Aleksey and Ben since the first paragraph of the very first book. Everything about these books has been five stars all the way until now. It’s just as gripping a story as the others, but the book felt a little rushed. It’s shorter than the others, plus I felt scenes and side characters were not as beautifully fleshed out as usual.

Nevertheless, I still highly recommend it and look forward to the next one.
