About this listen

Relationship Status: I ended up in the ER after a first date gone horribly wrong, and the hottest, cockiest doctor on the planet had to give me stitches - the same man, dubbed Dr. Erotic by his superfans, who would make a once-in-a-lifetime story for my gossip column.

Dr. Scott Shepard has women all over the country tuning in to watch him strut around on the popular reality show The Doctor Is In. And he is the kind of sexy, anti-relationship player that makes headlines.

With a revolving door of women on his arm and nights off spent schmoozing around New York, I swear, the man is giving me more material than I know what to do with.

And although he might not be too thrilled with my column focusing on him, I won't stop - not when I'm this close to making a name for myself on the pop culture side of investigative journalism.

Nor will I fall for that charming, panty-dropping smile of his.

When it comes to Dr. Erotic, I'm the one woman who's immune.

Contains mature themes.

hellooo doctor

Fair warning...don't read or listen to this in public unless you're prepared for people to stare while you howl with laughter. At other times, you'll gasp at the unexpected situations Scott and Paige have thrust upon them. And in the end, you'll sigh and regret it's reached the end. No one can deliver like Max and Monroe. Nelson Hobbs and Lauren Sweet were perfection.

Love to hate him

I think Max Monroe gets a kick out of me making squinty eyes at my fellow train passengers. There's something about these cocky buggers that make me a little cranky. They're so arrogant and full of themselves that I can't help but question whether I can be convinced they'll come good.

Of course, by the end I'm shaking my head at my silliness. Dr Scott Shepard is amazing, sweet and totally loveable. Harlow is pretty cool too.

I think the male narrator was great. He has a very easy voice to listen to and I never struggled to understand him. Unfortunately, the female narrator was a little less enjoyable. I found her voice a little nasally. I'm not sure if this was due to the character having an accent?

Another great installment and I will definitely be going on in the future.

Listened at 1.7x.

It was a good book and I laughed so hard many times throughout the book. I listened at 1.7x speed so I could get through it quickly. I really enjoyed the narration by Nelson Hobbs, but I didn’t so much Lauren Sweet. She was too whiny & nasally for my taste. Since I subscribe to audible escape, it wasn’t a waste of any credit and I could continue the series and additional books by Max Monroe.

Cute, fun story with a sexy MMC

I thought this was a sweet read that provided depth of character, growth and a good plot. Just a little drama to thicken the plot, and albeit predictable, and it wasn’t too outrageous. It was mostly lighthearted with fun, flirty banter and some pretty cute scenes. There was steam, but I personally would have liked much more.
I read several reviews that disliked the female narrator, but I actually thought she did a better job than the male. To each their own! Another review said the FMC was a bitch, selfish and immature. That really surprised me because that is one of my biggest pet peeves in a romance story and I actually thought the author did a good job with this FMC. She was strong, independent, equally matched in the relationship, actually had something to offer in terms of emotionally contributing to the partnership and physically, and helped with the personal growth of the MMC. I’ve read several books recently where I would absolutely describe the FMC as a bitch, selfish and immature and to me, this was nowhere near that.
As much as I did enjoy the story, I will say the weird narration with the internal monologue addressing the reader at times was off putting to me. Just listening to this book, it got a little confusing at times when it wasn’t clear the narrators were voicing internal thoughts as opposed to actual responses in conversation. Also, knowing how roles work in the medical field, some pieces of the story were a little too unbelievable to translate, but overall I thought this was a cute, fun read!

The nasaly voice of the female was very distracting.

I loved the story line and characters. As good as the others in the series.

Yes

The story of Scott and Harlow was sweet. Some reviews say they were chased out of town but they were not chased out they made the choice to move. It was cute how it ended but wish they had a kid like the other books.

Good, but definitely not my favorite

I found this book to still be good, however the extreme pursuit seemed a little annoying and unrealistic.Maybe it is just me, it just felt a bit disconnected from what would have been more than likely left at a point. It ended okay, but a whole scandal aspect felt a little pushed and while I appreciate that light on the vindictive nature of some over the truth, I felt it was annoying while this part could be relatable it usually isn't defeated or able to be pushed back against. Perhaps a whole beat the odds for truth sort of deal I suppose. It then felt very rushed at the end to move past this. I don't know it just didn't sit all that well. I did like the Character Scott though his humor and wit helped to get through the book. The female narrator was nasally sounding for most of it which was a little hard to get past in the beginning.

The humor

I loved the story and the narrators made the a huge difference in the book. They were hilarious.
