The monarch wants him dead. A dragon’s torching the realm. Is his heroic gig about to be a critical catastrophe?

Gorm Ingerson knows the king is a fink. With the land’s insidious ruler hell-bent on his destruction, the axe-wielding Dwarf berserker is desperate to beat him to the punch. But when he discovers the rotten regent’s claim of a town razed by the world’s richest dragon is false, the gruff adventurer fears there’s more than a personal grudge at stake.

Struggling to convince his old comrades that they need to help him solve the mystery, the dwarven idealist stumbles into a sinister smuggling ring. And with strange creatures, cunning assassins, and vindictive bankers all plotting his demise, Gorm worries this time the price of doing the right thing will be fatally high.

Can he make a saving throw against death with a high-stakes roll at disadvantage?

Dragonfired is the thrilling third book in the Dark Profit Saga satirical fantasy trilogy. If you like witty banter, RPG references, and clever sendups of popular tropes, then you’ll love J. Zachary Pike’s laugh-out-loud conclusion.

This was a satisfying conclusion to an excellent story full of varied characters and complex, yet grounded conflicts interspersed amid all the big world changing ones. The narrator did a great job keeping distinct voices for all the many different characters.

Excellent end to an excellent trilogy

I normally do not write reviews. I will give stars but pass on the words. However, I will make an exception for Dragonfired.

Honestly I was afraid there wouldn't be a final book to trilogy. I am thankful I was wrong. When I saw Dragonfired was to be released, I immediately pre-ordered and waited with baited breath for the release. A few week before Dragonfired came out I re-listened to books 1 and 2 and rediscovered the joy.

Dragonfired did not let me down. Loved the final challenges, the characters and story. Doug Tisdale Jr.'s narration is excellent as always. A good narrator is a must. Thanks to J. Zachary Pike for finishing the story. I will certainly be listening to the trilogy again in the not so distant future.

Worth the wait.

It's been a while since I've read and listened to a clearly planned and executed trilogy that leaves no stones unturned and gloriously completes complex characters arcs with complete finality. I haven't been this satisfied since the end of the wheel of time series. Grab all 3 books and audiobooks if you can, and enjoy a fun quest for the heroes of destiny.

It is very difficult to write an impartial review as I absolutely loved this book (and the whole trilogy). I find nothing not to love about it - the characters are great, the story fantastic. The light humor and the elegant parody of real life is so close to Pratchett that is eerie, yet the Zachary Pike has its own style that while close to sir Terry's, is unique and with its own voice.
I finished it, and I wish I had more of the story.

Doug Tisdale Jr. does a amazing job reading, and only elevates the book with his performance.

Amazing book.

Worthy finish of the story, a great read

I feel like you tried to fit to much into this one. I need to add more words because this system is mean to me.

It’s about damn time

Incredibly funny and smart. Excellent pacing. Thoroughly enjoyed the whole series. Totally dope. The Author is well versed in modern economics. I have a business degree and I learned plenty from this book.

I have been anxiously waiting for this book and was not let down. Mr. Pike is a satirist for the 21st century. The dark profit saga places him in the rare company of Mark Twain and Terry Pratchett. His wit is razor sharp and the story is a mirror that reflects a clear picture of who we are, what we should have learned, and where I hope we are going as a culture.

I can’t wait to see what he does next.
