Drake's Pond is a lovely story about Drake, Misty, and their three ducklings that live in a beautiful park with two ponds in Whitewright, Texas. Drake is the ruler of the park. There are lots of other animals that live in the park and all around the park. Texas, a German Shepherd dog, is a war hero that lives across the street from the park. Texas becomes a hero once again by saving the ducks from a wolf, a giant python snake that escapes, and many other events that happen at the park. An activity game is at the end.

This book is my favorite out of all of Ms. Moore's children's books because there are so many animals to meet and learn about. I loved the way Ms. Moore has named all of the animals so appropriately. You read their names and you just see what the animal is like. Children will meet ducks, a wolf, a dog, cats, rats, mice, snakes, possum, raccoon, a turtle, a frog, a skunk, and owls. What an enjoyable and charming way for children to learn about animal life in the country. I thought this was a beautiful book. The narrator did an outstanding job and her infectious enthusiasm brings you right into the story. This story is full of excitement and adventure. Even though I am an adult, I was thrilled by Ms. Moore's tale.DRAKE'S POND IS A FIVE STAR STORY FOR SURE!
